The plan is to print LOTS of physical zine copies for a zine fest at the end of this month that I will be a vendor for. This will be my 1st time attending a zine fest as a vendor If I don't sell many I will be pushing them hard on here lol so please consider supporting a newly Black zine maker 💕

Happy October! It's my favorite time of the year especially since it's spooky season. And naturally I have a few spooky/horror themed zines including a new one I'm working on inspired by the 2026 hit movie Obsession it'll be available soon in my zine shop: ko-fi.com/lostfoundbla...

Issue 2 of my Lost & Found Black Child zine

The cover is in black and white with an image of a person with fangs at the top, a black woman practicing hooddoo at the bottom left and a white small church with a cross at the top on the right. The text is in blood red and reads "Lost & Found Black Child issue 2"

Issue 4 of my Lost & Found Black Child zine (that is what the text reads)

other text in white says: MOTHER, MAY I?

the image in the middle is of Mother Teresa in black and while praying with a gold halo behind her head and the there is also a person pressing up againist gray fabric with the print of their hand and mouth open

issue 6 of my Lost & Found Black Child zine series

It has small hearts as the background and an image of an ipod playlist with the text "Lost & Found Black Child's Love Addiction Playlist" small text reads "issue 6"

The image of the two people is a woman and man looking lovingly at each other in a pink filter with blood on their faces

Issue two is a zine that explores the Black Southern Gothic genre. I highlight some of the pioneers of the genre (Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Zora Neale Hurston, etc..) and connect to historical moments & personal experience as a Black southern femme.

My Lost & Found Black Child zine issue 2 cover. It is in black and white with a person who has fangs. There is also a white church and a woman practicing hoodoo. The text is in dark red

Issue 4 is a zine that weaves together my own religious trauma w/ my mom, Mother Teresa whose image of motherly sainthood often obscured the suffering she upheld & The Binding of Isaac, a video game that reimagines the biblical story through the eyes of a child fleeing his mom's religious psychosis

Lost & Found Issue 4 cover

It has Mother Teresa in the middle and behind her a persons silhouette with a handprint and open mouth. T

The text reads: Lost & Found Black Child

Lost My Mother To God

Mother May I?

I’ll be honest and say that I’ve been really discouraged about my zine series and have thought about giving up. It just feels like no one is truly interested in it. But I don’t want to give up. I worked hard to even be able to start making physical zines so this little project means something to me

My really and only dream in life is to be deeply known by people who also prioritized, love, and care about me but that dream has not come true yet. I know that it won't happen through ppl reading my zines either but it will help soothe the pain of not being deeply & personally known in some way.

I feel like my zine series is kinda my way of getting folks to understand & know who I am in a small way. I grew up as a highly sensitive curious kid in a emotionally neglectful, incurious, and violent household where I constantly felt unseen and unheard. That has affected me as adult.

Issue 5 of my zine series is now available in my Ko-Fi shop! ko-fi.com/lostfoundbla... I examine the connection of Black rappers, their alignment w/conservative political figures, & what it truly means to 'make it out' when the conditions that oppress Black folks collectively remain intact.

Zine cover with multiple rappers including Lil Wayne, Kanye West, & Nicki Minaj
Including them with Donald Trump
The back ground is fire and money falling from the sky

The caption reads “Mama I Made It”

DISCLAIMER

This zine represents my own interpretations and opinions.

I am NOT affiliated with any political party, and this zine is NOT an endorsement of or opposition to any political party or politician. While public figures and political symbols appear throughout this work, they are discussed as part of my philosophical exploration.

My interpretations are my own and should be understood as critical analysis rather than definitive claims about any individual's beliefs or intentions.

Last but not least this zine is NOT an attack on hip-hop. The music genre remains one of the most important artistic and cultural impacts Black Americans have created. My critique is directed toward the values rewarded within its commercial evolution and the broader American society that shaped it.

Images of rapper Soulja Boy and the text reads:

NIGGA WE MADE IT!

I remember standing in the hood
Tellin' my partner, and my momma, everything gonna be all good
Nigga we made it!

-Soulja Boy, We Made It Freeststyle,(2013)

Obama ain’t never put money in my pockets. Kamala ain’t never put money in my pockets. Trump put money in my pockets.

-Soulja Boy’s response to the backlash he received for performing at Trump’s inauguration party, (2025)

Lil Wayne The Block Is Hot album cover

Lil Wayne is in the middle shirtless pants sagging wearing American Flag boxers. He's surrounded by helicopters and fire and police cars

Juvenile 400 Degreez album cover

He is in the middle holding his hands out and at the top looking down wearing sunglasses. He surrounding by fire and there are also women in the back ground

Jay-Z has been a hot topic lately bc of his recent concert in NYC. I have a zine I'll be publishing soon called "Mama I Made It" that features him. I basically talk about his faux activism and how he thinks Black capitalism will liberate Black folks even though it only benefits him. Stay tuned!

An image of a Black fist and a fist holding money
Rapper Jay-z is also in the iamge

There is a tweet that by user sirius @mavi4mayor that says "niggas be feeling like letting you see them be rich is activism

Jay-Z lyrics:

I do this for my culture, to let them know what a nigga look like when a nigga in a roaster.
Show them how to move in a room full of vultures, industry is shady, it needs to be taken over.
Label owners hate me, I’m raising the status quo up I’m overcharging niggas for what they did to the Cold Crush.
Pay us like you owe us for all the years that you hoed us, we can talk, but money talks, so talk mo’ bucks.

I'm so glad I found zines. It feels like the perfect medium for me. I've always been a curious person even as a kid. I'm constantly questioning & analyzing humanity & my place in the world. With zines I can creatively reflect & examine the world around me & share my perspective authentically.

Lost and Found Black Child is a zine series where I examine life as a Black queer femme healing from trauma caused by social systems. I use it as a creative healing practice, and I share it because I believe my voice deserves to be heard.

If you’re an adult like me who used to love reading as a kid but now you find it hard to get through books, zines can be a great way to rebuild that reading habit. They’re short & easy to finish and can be a little doorway back into reading. #zine #zines

I am very proud of creating Lost & Found Black Child. I am proud of what is becoming and what it will become despite the slow growth. I know what I am doing is very niche and will only reach a specific demographic and I am grateful for anyone who believes in what I'm doing.💕✨
