Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 31/08/2026I almost always hear dialogue(s) in my head. I will tweak and revise them after I've put them on paper. 120
Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I ran across a novel I wanted to read until I noticed that it was nearly 600 pages long! A 400 page novel is about all I can handle these days. To be honest, the shorter the book, the more likely I am to read it. Does anyone else have that issue? Or do you enjoy a “bigger” book?”🤔💙📚 010
Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 19/08/2026My dad’s career in the Air Force meant our family moved every few years. I think those early years of constant travel and uprooting helped hone my observation and listening skills, among other things. 120
Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Had a great time at the Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, NC. I saw two plays. The first-- “Jitney.” The second-- “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.” Both by August Wilson. Thus far, I've seen 5 of the 10 plays in Wilson's American Century Cycle. Anybody else a fan of Wilson's work? 000
Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 28/07/2026I'm guilty. It never ruins the ending for me. I'm always interested in finding out how the author gets there. 111
Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 25/07/2026Oh yeah! She and Luke Combs sounded wonderful together in that performance. "Fast Car" is a classic. 010
Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 25/07/2026Even though I have the album somewhere, I haven't heard that song in years! Thanks for sharing. I may have to go look for my album. 👍 110

Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 21/07/2026 finally watched the 1946 movie version of “Great Expectations.” I have been trying to read or watch the original movie version of “Great Expectations” (Charles Dickens) since JR High. Even though I enjoyed the movie, having seen it, I’m now even less inclined to read the book. 🫣💙📚 030

Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 17/07/2026One of my all-time favorite movies. Like you said, it's hard to watch. As much as I love the film, it's even more difficult to rewatch. I guess because I know what's coming. 🙁 020

Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 15/07/2026 "When Morning Come." My latest short story. It’s about two little girls who seek refuge in the fantastical world of Greek mythology when their real lives become too difficult to bear. (The audio recording contains a glitch. Hope to fix soon). chestnutreview.com/lori-d-johns...chestnutreview.comLori D. Johnson, When Morning Come – Chestnut Review 111
