Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I ran across a novel I wanted to read until I noticed that it was nearly 600 pages long! A 400 page novel is about all I can handle these days. To be honest, the shorter the book, the more likely I am to read it. Does anyone else have that issue? Or do you enjoy a “bigger” book?”🤔💙📚 010
Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Had a great time at the Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, NC. I saw two plays. The first-- “Jitney.” The second-- “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone.” Both by August Wilson. Thus far, I've seen 5 of the 10 plays in Wilson's American Century Cycle. Anybody else a fan of Wilson's work? 000

What more proof anybody need that she ain’t dead? Ain’t like I can invite them inside my head at night so they can visit with her." chestnutreview.com/lori-d-johns...chestnutreview.comLori D. Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 21/07/2026 finally watched the 1946 movie version of “Great Expectations.” I have been trying to read or watch the original movie version of “Great Expectations” (Charles Dickens) since JR High. Even though I enjoyed the movie, having seen it, I’m now even less inclined to read the book. 🫣💙📚 030

Lori D. Johnson @loridjohnson.bsky.social · 15/07/2026 "When Morning Come." My latest short story. It’s about two little girls who seek refuge in the fantastical world of Greek mythology when their real lives become too difficult to bear. (The audio recording contains a glitch. Hope to fix soon). chestnutreview.com/lori-d-johns...chestnutreview.comLori D. Johnson, When Morning Come – Chestnut Review 111
