My #3rdPlace, (away from home or work), for #BlueSkyArtShow is anywhere looking out onto a big sky and open sea. On this occasion sunset on the Northumberland coast near Bamburgh. A long exposure image from a trip last February. #Photography #Landscape #coast #sunset #Fujifilm
A pink-red sunset reflects on flat and low level rocks as the tide retreats. A long exposure gives the impression of the gentle waves swirling and streaking over and around the rocks and inlets in between. Lying along the horizon are the Farne islands making little impression between the North sea and the sunset clouds.

Yes, read this last night. Alphabet soup thoughts from a mentally declining narcissistic psychopath. Unbelievable. Not only that he is US President but still has so many enablers. Scary!

How the hell can anyone read that and believe the US President is a sane, rational man! Seriously mentally unwell. Mind-blowing! Just as bad is that the enablers around him encourage it. Frightening.

We've had a lot of rain recently on the west coast of Scotland. A phone image of reflections in rock puddles from a local walk. #landscape #photography #SamsungS25Ultra #Scotland #reflections
In the foreground blue-grey rock indentations form large puddles of water. The forest pine trees on the upper half of the image form reflections in the water.

Another stunning sunset at #Woolacambe Bay, from the time lived in North Devon. The silhouetted couple were walking along the beach and stopped in a great pose to admire the scene. #photography #landscape #coast #sunset #stunday
A low-tide beach scene during an orange and red fiery sunset. the brightly coloured sky is reflected in the wet hollows of the sandy beach. A couple stand in silhouette looking out to sea in the mid distance.

Another Bamburgh beach #Golden morning at low tide, from last February's trip to #Northumberland. Just love the wet sand patterns left behind which reflect the dawn light. #BlueSkyArtShow #landscape #photography #coast
Two thirds of the image features a wide expanse of wet, golden sand reflecting the pink gold rays of morning. Tidal pools and flowing patterns feature in the foreground. On the horizon lies the imposing silhouette of Bamburgh Castle overlooking a slim sliver of sea, with dark moody clouds shading the dawn light in parts.

#Undulating mountains at 'blue hour', on a clear winter night after sunset, reflected in the utterly still waters of inland Loch Morlich in the Scottish Cairngorms. #BlueSkyArtShow #Photography #Landscape #Scotland
A minimal silhouette of two layers of dark, distant hills of various height rising and falling across the top of a loch, down to the loch level. The sun has set. It's 'blue hour'. A bright orange/yellow band lies just above the hills, which is reflected in the still waters of the loch, which fills all of the foreground.

#BlueSkyArtShow #Minimal #Northumberland beach scene in winter looking out to the North Sea last February. #Photography #Landscape #Coast
Just foaming waves crashing onto a sandy beach, with a previous wave running back to sea in white rivulets. An empty, dark sea with a blue, moody, mixed cloud sky.

So many coves and jagged rocks along the North Devon coastal path, I can't recall exactly where this one was. 🤔Somewhere between Morte Point and Ilfracombe. #TidesOutTuesday #RockinTuesday #Landscape #Photography #NorthDevon #Coast
The foreground is an uneven mix of rocks, rock pools, streams, and grasses with pinks growing in tufts. A sliver of blue sea and blue sky is separated by a large rocky cliff with jagged, pointed rocks at its base.

#BlueSkyArtShow #Summer Memories of North Devon. Passing time watching the River Lyn flow downstream, surrounded by green, thickly wooded valleys. The National Trust Lodge at Watersmeet offers cream teas nearby. #Photography #Landscape #river #woodland
A thickly wooded green valley of deciduous trees, with a gently tumbling river flowing through the centre. Three people are sitting with their backs to the photographer, on a rocks in the centre of the river.

Lovely Loch Leven, and the wee Eilean nam Ban in the Lochaber, #Scotland #Scape #Photography #Landscape
A small, sunlit, grassy, oblong shaped island with three trees lies in the centre of the image. In the foreground there are smooth reflections of the island, and the grey and white clouds with patches of blue sky. On either side of the narrow loch rise tree forested mountains, with wisps of cloud on the higher peak.s

The sands of #Luskentyre on the island of Harris for #LowTideTuesday #Photography #Landscape #Scotland
A vista of a wide bay with sunlit coloured sand either side a freshwater low tide river wending its way towards the ocean, The foreground shows the curve of the waterway across the textured sand taking the eye to distant hills. The sky is a mix of light and dark clouds fractured across a blue sky.

I love taking images in the Highlands and islands of #Scotland , but I often forget the beauty on my doorstep. Loch Eck, a few miles away, some summers ago. #landscape #photography #Scotland #LochEck
At the edge of a loch taken from a sand-gravel mix shore where an entering stream enters sculpts it's way past two decayed tree stumps. In the distance on the far side of the loch are green, wooded mountains and valleys.

Thanks John. Interesting trip to Donegal, holiday primarily, but difficult photographically due to much rain, and sadly lacking Scotland's right to roam, or even England's footpaths. Lots of private, keep out signs along coast.

Lovely shot. Not sure what sort of Autumn colour will be around this year in England with drought/heat. 🤔 We might fare better up here in Scotland as we are still 'green', missing out on the heatwave.

Early Morning on #Bamburgh Beach at low tide, #Northumberland, with the imposing Castle, which endured power struggles during the Viking Age. "Destiny is all" #Stunday #AlphabetChallenge #WeekFforFilms The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die ( 2023) #Photography #Landscape #Coast
The Sun is rising behind dark clouds, but a gap in the clouds produces bright orange rays to shine in the distance over the sea in the distance, and is reflected over the vast area of wet sand at low tide. The castle fortress rises behind the dunes on a low promontory in silhouette. Rippled sand patterns in the foreground add interest.

Beautiful Wester Ross. Loch Maree and the distinctive peak of Slioch, a Scottish Munro at 981 metres. (3,219ft) #BlueSkyArtShow Theme #Earth #Landscapes #Photography #Scotland #Fujifilm

The glorious #Luskentyre tidal bay with the mountains of #Harris last November. So lucky to get snowfall while there if only briefly. Just arranged another trip for February. Can't wait! #MountainMonday #Landscape #Photography #Fujifilm #Scotland #Coast
Overlooking the beach of Seilebost in the foreground at low tide, towards Rosamol beach and sand dunes on the the other side of the bay, with the lightly snow capped peaks of the Harris mountains on the horizon. The sky is a mixture of light and dark clouds pierced by sunlight hitting the tops and and the sand dunes.

#BlueSkyArtShow Theme #Water The sight and sound of the sea is now an important part of my everyday life having spent most of it inland. A gentle #ICM image of the wide space of a calm North Sea. #Landscape #Photography #Coast
A gentle, Intentional Camera Movement image looking out onto open water, from a golden sand beach. The waves are small, quietly lapping the sand, and the sea calm in various tones of grey, green, and blue reflecting from a similar wispy clouded sky.

Moy Castle in Winter. A 3 storey tower, built in the 15th century, stands on the edge of Loch Buie on the Isle of Mull. #Landscape #Photography #Castle #Scotland #IsleofMull
A freshwater stream runs over dark, rocky boulders leading the eye to a rocky outcrop, on which stands an impressive, rectangular, 3 storey, grey stone tower castle. It is surrounded by woodlands, and in the distance, the top of a hill can just be seen.
