Every time I try to go home, the Bridge deposits me back into this dimension, back into this living room.

And every time I’m reminded of how beautiful Abdi is. There is an unassuming elegance to the way he drapes his jacket onto the hall tree, a delicate artistry when he toes off his Birkenstocks, one palm pressed to the wall, his mussed hair obscuring his eyes.

There are dark circles beneath them now.
