In the current era, sharing things on the internet is extremely easy (sometimes....too easy) thanks to a range of third-party platforms. In the 1990s, you had to REALLY want to do it, and I have such fond memories of wandering the internet and finding projects like this.

October 4, 1996. We left Boyne City, Michigan, in a 34-foot motorhome with three kids, a golden retriever, and a desktop computer bolted to the floor. Five miles later it died. Betsy and I wrote about the next nine months for @longreads.
