My contribution to the magazine shows up at 1:29 - Several faceless CEOs smiling behind a running tap, feeding endless water and small figures into a large swirling whirlpool styled like a labelled pie chart (with words such as "Strategy", "Longevity", "Realign" and "Survival"), as the entire thing spirals down the drain.

The illustration takes cues from the Corporate Memphis "tech" art-style. While the entire image is full of vibrant colors, the faceless CEOs are grayscale.

What do you MEAN you've been here the whole time? Why are you even hidden away in here??

A screenshot of Aseprite's Tag Properties window. By default, it displays fields for Name, From & To frames, Animation Direction, and Repeat. There is also a teeny tiny little button next to the Name field. Hovering over it reveals that it is for User Data.

I have now pressed the teeny tiny User Data button, which reveals two more fields: Color (for the tag's background color), and a User Data text field that I can use for whatever I want. Say, for shoving text-based parameters into it, like what I've been doing to the tag names while I program a new Lua script for Aseprite.

For the record: I got a Lua script to the point where it reads out *most* tag names in sequence, and skips ahead to the next tag in the sequence. It misses one tag at the start, because I don't currently check if two tags start on the same frame. This is messy, but the potential is there.

I learned about Cryptomattes in Blender 5.3 *very* recently, so here's a quick run-through! 1: In "View Layers", enable your Cryptomattes. You'll generally want Object and Materials. 2: In order to pick mattes in Blender's compositor, you first need to render your image. Image > Render, or hit F12

Blender's "View Layer" panel, its icon is a stack of three images. I am highlighting the Cryptomatte options (found beneath "Light" options). I recommend enabling "Object" and "Material", but you only need to include what you need.
