Of course he's parked adjacent to a parking bay, but decided to just dump it in the cycle lane instead. He was getting out when I passed, and said "I'll just be two seconds" when I told him to move it. Well you've already obstructed me, cunt. @yplac.bsky.social

Elm Row was fine at about 1pm today. I can't say the same about the top of Leith Walk just before it though... Luckily "someone" put a @yplac.bsky.social sticker on it, at least.
A segregated cycle path next to a road (Leith Walk, Edinburgh). There is a van parked completely across the cycle lane, next to a 2 lane (in each direction) road. No registration plate is visible. The driver's side window of the van. "Someone" has put a You Park Like A Cunt sticker on it.

Why block the road when you can block the road AND the pavement? And yes, they're parked at an empty driveway.
A white van, parked 80% on the pavement and 20% on the road, at a traffic island, blocking both the bus lane and pavement. There are two lanes of traffic in each direction.

Gilmerton Road cycle lane build-out yesterday morning and this morning (3rd pic for perspective for those unfamiliar). Right outside the primary school. This doesn't seem particularly safe to me, surely it's only a matter of time until someone is flattened here? @spokes.org.uk
A cyclist passing a pavement build-out that fully covers the cycle lane. The cyclist is riding in the gutter of the build-out due to limited space. A black car is overtaking the cyclist extremely closely.A cyclist approaching a pavement build-out that fully covers the cycle lane. There is a NWH skip lorry passing the build-out ahead, around 30-50cm from the kerb.A view of the cycle lane and build-out from around 25m before the build-out. There are no give way markings or any indication that drivers should expect cyclists to have to swerve out.

Nice one mate, really great place to overtake.
The front of a white car overtaking two cyclists on the approach to a pedestrian crossing. A cyclist is heading towards the camera in the other lane, indicating to their right. An almost identical scene, a few metres further on. The driver of the white car is still edging forward, trying to overtake, now on the zig-zags.A few metres further on, the driver has passed both cyclists, barely leaving enough room. The registration is SM26EPY.

I love being driven at by private hire drivers. After he hit me with the mirror he shouted "ARSEHOLE!" and drove off. I'd report it if I didn't expect the police to do nothing except probably threaten to charge me with something.
A fairly narrow side road with cars parked on both sides. A private hire car is turning into the road in the distance.Further down the road. The private hire car has proceeded up the road instead of giving way at the junction, leaving around 1.5 metres between the oncoming car and parked cars on the left. The vehicle registration is SJ16NGLThe private hire car passing incredibly close to the camera (cyclist). Contact is made between the wing mirror of the car and the cyclists handlebar.

Sigh.
A view of Gilmerton Road, Southbound. There are zig-zag markings on the road on the lead-up to a pedestrian crossing, and there is a traffic island after the crossing. A terrible place to try and overtake.A few metres further down the road, now on the pedestrian crossing. The front of a red car overtaking is visible. The car is very close to the camera, well under a metre of space. The red car, now past the camera, still very close. The registration is SM62 WZA.

If this guy hadn't been on his phone, maybe he would have been able to stop for the red light. Didn't catch the registration and the police would probably say the video isn't clear enough to report anyway.

Un-fucking- believable. While I was talking to someone, this prick rocks up and blocks the cycle lane. When I asked him to move, he VERY grudgingly moved into the parking bay. When I passed, he then fucking MOVED BACK TO BLOCK THE LANE. So I circled back to sticker him, as he ran over shouting "NO!"

I don't think dismounting here would help the traffic very much - surely it's better to cycle in the road instead of walk your bike in the road? There's not enough space on the pavement to walk a bike there, so they can't mean that, surely?

Another "crap bike parking" example. Cineworld, Fountainbridge, Edinburgh (alt text for why I'm parked like this, if it's not clear)
A black road bike D-locked to the back of some awful cycle parking thing. The bike rack consists of 25cm deep D shaped hoops and is too close to the wall behind for a bike to be placed over the top. The rack provides no way to secure a bicycle by anything other than one wheel. The bicycle pictured has quick release front and rear wheels. The bicycle is locked at 90 degrees to what is presumably the intended direction.

This morning's encounter with a cunt. He's been parking like this for weeks now, and I finally had a chance to ask him politely to not. Of course in typical drivist form, he didn't appreciate it, or my written complaint from @yplac.bsky.social to remind him that he's parked like a cunt.

Also HGVs have specific rules about parking on the footpath, unlike other vehicles: www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/5...
A screenshot from the road traffic act, saying:

Prohibition of parking of HGVs on verges, central reservations and footways
(1)Subject to subsection (2) below, a person who parks a heavy commercial vehicle (as defined in section 20 of this Act) wholly or partly—

(a)on the verge of a road, or

(b)on any land situated between two carriageways and which is not a footway, or

(c)on a footway,

is guilty of an offence.
(2)A person shall not be convicted of an offence under this section in respect of a vehicle if he proves to the satisfaction of the court—

(a)that it was parked in accordance with permission given by a constable in uniform, or

(b)that it was parked in contravention of this section for the purpose of saving life or extinguishing fire or meeting any other like emergency, or

(c)that it was parked in contravention of this section but the conditions specified in subsection (3) below were satisfied.

(3)The conditions mentioned in subsection (2)(c) above are—

(a)that the vehicle was parked on the verge of a road or on a footway for the purpose of loading or unloading, and

(b)that the loading or unloading of the vehicle could not have been satisfactorily performed if it had not been parked on the footway or verge, and

(c)that the vehicle was not left unattended at any time while it was so parked.

(4)In this section “carriageway” and “footway”, in relation to England and Wales, have the same meanings as in the [1980 c. 66.] Highways Act 1980
