if you are willing to meet chris’ on his own terms, i’d like to ask him, what is it about the current moment that explains why now feels so threatening? he’s been a cop for over thirty years? has it always been like this? or is there smth about this period in time?
040
lokman tsui @lokman.org · 21/09/2026
we can ask similar questions for many other world leaders. in chris’ case, he’s not democratically elected. but others are. meaning it’s not just a problem at the top.

also, there is a bitter irony in the fact that calling the end to an authoritarian regime will get you convicted to prison by said authoritarian regime, because of "national security". so tldr; they're basically admitting they are a one-party dictatorship?

so this phrase "end one-party dictatorship" is now a violation of the national security law in hong kong. this is a phrase im pretty sure the majority of hong kong people at some point have shouted.
