What I'm listening to today: "Teletext Rhythms" This musician is writing a music production app for Nintendo 3DS homebrew, splitting the difference between a tracker and an MPC. Here's a 20-minute live set (in the sense a DJ set is live) with Noise Commander. "EDM". www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2Pi...

stay safe! avoid kettles!!

HOW TO SPOT A KETTLE

Police may try to surround the march on all sides in a "kettle."

If you're kettled, they might hold you there for hours...

They otten lie about when they're gonna let you go.
...or even arrest everyone.

Look out for a prisoner transport bus.

If you see a kettle coming, the safest exit is usually back the way you came.

TURN AROUND!

SHIELD • YOUR • NEIGHBORS Here in #LosAngeles, we protect our neighbors at all costs.

A family of 3, outlined in green, hide behind a roaring bear, as large foreboding black shadows with nightsticks and helmets lurk behind it. A green star outstretched at their feet as they try to hide from view. Text at the bottom reads in call caps: "SHIELD YOUR NEIGHBORS"

Q: Why is it so much easier for the US right to organize and be unified than the US left? A: Anti-Black racism. The only consistent thing that the right agrees on, is this. It's what unifies them. But the US left is very anti-Black too! So they try to get the benefits, without helping Black folk.🤷🏿‍♂️

My big project: The Death Generator. It's a tool for making fake video game screenshots, just fill in new text and it'll give you a (generally) pixel-accurate image back, the correct fonts and everything. deathgenerator.com

The Mario 64 intro scene with a letter from Princess Peach, reading:
Dear Mario. Please come to the castle. I'm down bad. Yours truly-- Princess Toadstool (Peach)

CATS from the video game Zero Wing (the All Your Base Are Belong To Us game), saying: "I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is Futile"

Dracula from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, saying to Richter "Get out of my house"

The transportation advisor from SimCity 2000, saying "YOU CAN'T STAY ON TWITTER! YOU WILL REGRET THIS!"

Was rewatching Tokyo Drift the other day and I really liked the phone Bow Wow's character had and apparently it's a G'zOne type-R. There's a newer model with android 12 and USB-C charging called the G'zOne type-XX but it's like 500 dollars which sucks cause that phone is literally made for me :/

A screenshot shot of Tokyo Drift showing Bow Wow holding a g zOne type R flip phone

Don’t post front facing pictures of yourself maskless at protests. Don’t post front facing pictures of other people maskless at protests. **Especially** ppl of color. Seeing that all over with the Tesla stuff. You eagerly wanting to be seen doing something endangers both yourself and others.

I love comics more than anything, and I genuinely, with all my heart, find 90% of comics simultaneously thoroughly unreadable and indispensably vital to the overall well-being of the medium. People need room to suck.

A friend shared this with me, so now I'm sharing with you: This is a fork of Blender that has an overhaul of the interface that adds colored icons, verbose tooltips, and more industry-standard behavior across the board. www.bforartists.de Check out this before and after of the modifiers menu:

The default Blender modifiers menu. All items have gray icons and it's difficult to differentiate between them unless you closely read every name

The Bforartists version of the same menu. Each tool has a different icon in bright, readable colors. It's much easier to tell the difference between tools, even if you squint.
