I feel so bad for laughing, but this bear posting up under this man's house for a good month boosted my serotonin levels like nobody's business. And the fact that they tagged him and dragged him back out to the wilderness and he came right back a year later like, "Now what, bitch?" is sending me.

The Trump administration has delayed a final decision on Endangered Species Act protections for monarch butterflies, with a new deadline of June 6, 2030. Monarchs remain without protections while the decision is pending. The agency could act sooner, but this agreement allows years more of waiting. 😔

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

I'm one of the scientists here. Sternberg Museum holds one of the most important pterosaur collections in the world. It is extremely important that the collection remains accessible for research, and it would be a tragedy for Kansas if it has to be transferred out of state.

#ResistanceRoots Today in history, 1919: The Great Steel Strike begins. More than 350,000 steelworkers walked off the job to protest harsh post-WWI working conditions. The media narrative played up public anxiety following the 1917 Russian Revolution, feeding directly into the First Red Scare. /1
Steel mill workers in Chicago hold bulletins with the headline “STRIKE!” during the Great Steel Strike of 1919. The Great Steel Strike of 1919 stands as one of the largest and most bitterly fought industrial conflicts in American history. Steelworkers faced brutal conditions and poverty-level. By mobilizing more than 350,000 workers across 50 cities, the strike paralyzed half of the nation’s steel infrastructure all at once. However, the steel companies broke the strike with a three-pronged strategy: stoking fears of Bolshevik radicals, exploiting racial and ethnic division, and securing martial law to physically crush picket lines and suspend civil liberties. Ultimately, the strike ended in a devastating, total defeat for organized labor, shaping the American economic and political landscape for decades. Photo credit: Bettmann Archive / Getty Images.
