@LupinoArts Currently, only a small number of people know what the actual vulnerability is. There are some bad actors out there who are already exploiting it, but it's still rather contained. Once they release the update, everyone can easily see what they fixed, and thereby know what the issue […]

@f800gecko I really don't understand why AI needs any special regulation. It's a piece of software. There already is a lot of regulation out there, but somehow it's not being applied to AI tools. Like, when your bank tells you false information, then they should be liable for that. And if they […]

[rogue "AI", AI regulation] Just to clarify: I am not in favour of no regulation. However, large corporations capturing the regulators and using regulation against competitors is something that does happen, and this is the opposite of what regulation should actually be used for.

In my experience, the most important advantage that commercial software had over FLOSS, is better UX. It's nice that FLOSS can be configured to suit every user's needs, but you must do the configuration to get proper UX out of it, and this excludes users who don't care about that kind of […]

These two wonderful pictures of the #eclipse were taken by @ion with an iPhone #eclipse2026
A picture of the eclipse at almost the darkest point. The sun is rather blurry and looks like only a small portion is cut on the buttom right. However, there is a lense flare, showing a sharp and clear mirror image of the sun's actual shape: a slim arc.The sun is almost setting, and the eclipse is almost over. A very low exposure image that shows a tiny bit of the sun covered by the moon on the left, and the horizon appears as a shadow in front of some athmospheric glow from the sun.
