A small bundle of brown and white feathers hangs on thin orange and black wires, suspended in the middle of a dim, grey room. Across the walls behind it, layered projections of dark, scratchy, feather-like marks fill the surfaces. A large shadowy branching form appears at the upper left.

Cover of Technoetic Arts, Volume 24 Number 1. A cream cover with the journal title in large dark grey lettering and a small blue circle in the top left reading "Visual Arts". The central square image is an abstract digital rendering: a rippling landscape of luminous turquoise ridges built from fine flowing lines, scattered with glowing orange and yellow dots that read like lights strung along a network. A blue circle at the top right reads "Special Issue: 'Synthetic Sentience: Relational Intelligence and the Politics of Perception'". The cover image shows an installation view of 'Revivification' (2025) by Guy Ben-Ary, Nathan Thompson, Stuart Hodgetts, and Matt Gingold, photographed by Rebecca Mansell, courtesy of the Art Gallery of Western Australia. The latest issue of Constructivist Foundations constructivist.info/21/1 features two articles on Humberto Maturana. One is a previously unpublished conversation with Ignacio Muñoz-Cristi on anthroporobotics. The other, co-authored by Andrey S. Druzhinin & Diego A. Ramírez, is on uncertainty. 1/4
Cover of Constructivist Foundations journal, Volume 21 Number 1, November 2025 (ISSN 1782-348X). The cover features an abstract, textured artwork with layered geometric shapes in vibrant colors including turquoise, red, yellow, green, orange, and white. The composition suggests weathered urban surfaces or collaged architectural fragments, with visible paint textures, linear elements, and a prominent yellow leaf-like shape in the upper left quadrant. The journal title "CONSTRUCTIVIST FOUNDATIONS" appears in bold red and black letters across the top third of the image, with the subtitle "An interdisciplinary journal" and website "www.constructivist.info" beneath. The artwork's fragmented, palimpsest-like quality evokes themes of construction, layering, and emergent pattern—resonating with constructivist epistemology's emphasis on knowledge as actively constructed rather than passively received.

LLMs don’t know anything: reply to Yildirim and Paul
In their recent Opinion in TiCS [1], Yildirim and Paul propose that large language models (LLMs) have ‘instrumental knowledge’ and possibly the kind of ‘worldly’ knowledge that humans do. They suggest that the production of appropriate outputs by LMMs is evidence that LLMs infer ‘task structure’ that may reflect ‘causal abstractions of… entities and processes in the real world’ [1]. While we agree that LLMs are impressive and potentially interesting for cognitive science, we resist this project on two grounds.
