I think @govandybeshear.bsky.social is a great governor for his state and it would be best if he continue to win statewide elections there for as long as possible.

We brought them home, and on the way they pissed in the crate so we had to wash the cats, the car, etc.

Steven Lithway @lithway.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

So we pulled our cats out and went to a different emergency vet called the VEG in Warwick where we had a much better time actually getting seen, actually talking to vet techs, able to hold our very stressed cats

I have not yet gone to sleep because we thought our cat ate an oatmeal raisin cookie last night. We went to an emergency vet and they didnt mention the long line they had, nor did they tell us that in the 2 hours we were there we moved back in the priority order

Whether she learned from Hochul's fumbling in NY or this is the attitude she was going to have regardless, Foulkes is demonstrating that she know how to lead, and is interested in actually governing the state effectively

See, it’s possible to use “big tent” and have it include the left.

Asked by NBC 10 about concern over democratic socialists from some Democrats, Foulkes said, "I think we have to be a big tent party."
"I absolutely think that he and I will have a really good relationship," she said of Morales, if they both win.
"I think it's really easy to get hung up on these differences, but he and I really had a great conversation. And I want to be a governor who is supporting Providence and him because I want Providence to succeed. When it succeeds, the whole state does," Foulkes said.

And asked by NBC 10 if she would endorse Morales, Foulkes replied, "Yes. I'm a Democrat and he is, too."

Actors who are genuinely good people are the best at playing ass hole characters because they know exactly what qualities they are taking away to become that character.

the permitting reform deal is extremely good and Dems should support it because 1. It will lower carbon emissions 2. It will not help Trump politically, and most of the benefits won’t be felt until 2029 3. we won’t get a better deal while Trump is President 4. We can always improve it in 2029

Its unfortunate that Zendaya's character is so controversial, because thats literally the whole point. Anyone who walks away not understanding that she reformed herself, that people who (almost) do wrong can reform, did not learn the lesson of the film.

Also, "i would have told someone if they hadnt" was such a great line because she didn't have to, so she doesnt need to back up her integrity, it was never truly challenged. She got away with a shitty thing without facing a consequence.

Then, the season finale comes in and all these groups mush together to achieve something amazing. They roll together their knowledge and plans without protest, all of the effort dedicated to the problem. The trust is implicit, its never questioned when the fire is hottest. Thats what made it great

The real beauty of Stranger Things is the branching narrative structure. You have several groups of people working on related problems with wildly different sets of information and skills, yet somehow, they all make progress towards the same goals in chaotic synergy

The character tier list goes: Nancy, Steve, Robbin, Hopper, Joyce, followed by everyone else being pretty good. Ted wheeler sucked profoundly.

I remember the internet complaining about the ending being awful. I cant see it. They gave a payoff to everything short of creating a spinoff sitcom so we could see the rest of everyone's lives. My only real complaint is that Noah Schnapp isn't a very good actor, but its a small potato

Steven Lithway @lithway.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

just got around to watching the final season of #StrangerThings and holy shit that was good It is a rare day that a show nails the ending like that. The pacing was excellent. Each scene felt right, which is very hard for ensemble boss battles to do. The epilogues were mostly satisfying. Truly great

Bold to assume conservative views are widely shared anywhere. Republicans do worse and worse the more people you put into an area. They do better when fewer people vote.

An unsympathetic dem is going to be a lot better for the national conversation than a hostile republican. When we elect people, they shape the conversations we have. If Paxton wins, he will amplify his hate for the next 6 years. If Talarico wins, he will mumble a couple times for the next 6 years
