Image: I'm led to believe this is a Transverse Ladybird. It is gold-orange in colour. There is a dark strip down the centre where the wings meet, and prominent black V-shaped markings on each side. They are beneficial to the environment as they control Aphids.

Thanks to a few people on BlueSky who are often posting photos of creatures in the insect world, I have been taking more notice of the smaller creatures around me.
