"Can you use AI for that?" I get asked that a lot, today after filming students at the Uni of Cambridge. Can I use AI to help storyboard the videos? Probably. But why would I? I travel all this way to find and tell those stories. It's about the journey, not just the endpoint. #stories #scicomm

At @dcswa.bsky.social PD, @ngreenfieldboyce.bsky.social talks about elements in her favorite stories & echoes for me: something new people may have never heard of, has a people angle, may be a little weird or offbeat, and may reflect broader trends in society, metaphorically or otherwise 👍 #scicomm

PFAS is a good recent case study of how published studies, including "strategic literature reviews," affect real world economics, regulations, people & the environment Out of 12,000 PFAS chemicals, less than 12 studied and have to look at each one at a time, but that's only 1 challenge: 4/ #scicomm

We still have so much to learn from Earth! I feel privileged to learn from scientists every day who are finding new ways to gain insights from the planet -- whether from the soil, rocks plants, air, creatures great and small (alive and deceased), or, of course, the water. #HappyEarthDay #scicomm
