To be fair there are a lot of Reform voters from across the social spectrum. It’s the media that just focuses on the ‘red wall’.

How many men was that piling into on a young woman. Seems to be every one of those within hitting, kicking, pushing, dragging and grabbing distance. Depressing not one of them stepped in to protect her.

Why does the media persist in labelling Epstein as a ´disgraced financier’. The predator was a convicted, child sex offender. Surely this fact overrides the ‘financier’ bit. And being convicted of serious sexual offenses of minors is rather more serious than being ‘disgraced’.

Plus there must be an impact of FDI (foreign direct investment) from companies that would have otherwise seen the UK as a first stepping stone into other European markets, and I guess there was likely a reduction in the number of European HQs based in the UK.

Yes true, it's on a different scale and there are a growing number of grid-scale battery storage facilities being built. These facilities store up the solar power so it is available through the day and night on a much bigger scale, and it’s working! www.businessenergydeals.co.uk/blog/battery...

Sorry to hear that. I used to decide whether to stay out beyond 10pm (if it was a great night) and spend £50 for a taxi home, or if it was a mediocre night then I’d head home before 10pm while it was still busy and people were relatively sober.

The entire thing felt orchestrated. Never seen so much high-profile media coverage on an academic’s life and career. Particularly surprising was this level of front-page coverage about a person who was not a public figure.

2 of 2 .. Unami tasting, versatile bean of the bean kingdom. Meanwhile Lima beans are not creamy and they don’t melt in the mouth and they have tough outer shells. Why oh why are people not respecting the superiority of the butter bean? Am I alone?!

Lisa Harding @lisaharding.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
1 of 2. Ok @beanfacts.bsky.social I’ve just discovered your account and I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on the butter beans vs the Lima bean because I’m really ticked off that in Canada many companies mis-label the former as the latter. Butter beans are one of the most delicious, creamy..

Ok so if we’re getting into cooking methods then you can’t beat a cheese and beans toasty made in a proper sandwich toaster with bread buttered both sides . That buttery, crusty outer texture adds an entirely different dimension to the dish.

Can I just say that if you want to mix it up a bit maybe try beans in toast with grated cheese on top. A surprisingly different flavour sensation. I like to add a bit of HP sauce in the beans for that special je ne sais quoi.

Does this mean people will revert back to saying ‘the’ World Cup, rather than just FIFA. And can we bring back more colourful logos from host nations and stop splattering ‘FIFA’ everywhere, remove FIFA merchandise from fanzone events and the WC stadiums? It’s always been the World Cup, not FIFA.
Images of World Cup logos from 1930 to 2026

Lisa Harding @lisaharding.bsky.social · 31/07/2026
You also see how much has been lost. The earlier logos are representative of the hosts of the World Cup. Some don’t even mention FIFA at all. This year’s has literally stripped away the joy from the design.
020
Lisa Harding @lisaharding.bsky.social · 31/07/2026
Interesting how the logos compare over the years too.
101
Lisa Harding @lisaharding.bsky.social · 31/07/2026
This is a great reference point. And this year the logo is ‘FIFA 26’. They’ve dropped the ‘world cup’ bit from the actual World Cup, right under our noses.
121
Lisa Harding @lisaharding.bsky.social · 31/07/2026
There was a lot of FIFA merch this year in the fanzone in Toronto. I thought it was weird they had their own country FIFA t shirts. No mention of the World Cup, just ‘FIFA’. Even the official logo is just ‘FIFA 26’ when you think about it. They’ve dropped the ‘World Cup’ bit of the actual World Cup
110
Lisa Harding @lisaharding.bsky.social · 31/07/2026
Yes, essentially they’re the logistics. Until this year I only ever really knew it as ‘the’ World Cup. Only this year have I seen so much about FIFA this and FIFA that. As long as it’s fair I’m sure the fans, players and teams would get behind any world tournament. They don’t care about FIFA.

UEFA threatens to boycott World Cup over sell-off plan
European nations have agreed to boycott the World Cup if Gianni Infantino goes ahead with selling off part of the tournament to private investors.

Apparently Sky News have a copy of the Morgan Stanley investment presentation. They said there’s no mention of the Women’s World Cup. However the UEFA boycott would impact the Women’s WC, the boycott includes all teams and relates to all FIFA tournaments.

I’m glad 3 European teams made it to the semi-finals, and Spain won the last women’s WC too. Proves the WC wouldn’t be the same competition without European nations. I think there needed to be a wake up call. They’ve all ignored the corruption for too long because of the $$$ they’re all raking in.

Lisa Harding @lisaharding.bsky.social · 29/07/2026
Agreed. They also appear to be deliberately trying to devalue the original works of creators eg. leaking The Odyssey on X and allowing 2m people to watch it for free, and threatening to make a ‘better’ version with AI, leaking Ariana Grande’s music that hadn’t been released yet. Arsonists & pirates.

Governments must increase the security in libraries of all places. Are they trying to erase our understanding of our own history? Weird how artifacts and antiquities are suddenly going missing from national museums. Weird how arts and humanities courses are being erased from British Universities.
