The heartlessness here from the Republican operatives in judicial robes in Roberts SCOTUS is unimaginable yet not surprising. Just keep that in mind when you hear any member of the elite media attempt to suggest that Roberts Court is reining in the Trump regime.

this makes me ill. this isn't some policy dispute. this is a court of v comfortable ppl making a non-decision, avoiding the crushing harm, int'l law violation, & total abuse of power involved in even one of these 3rd party 'removals'. it's sick.

it's evidently too much to ask the rw justices to consider the irreparable harm to individuals treated to such inhumanity. they are complicit in this criminality. shame on all six of them. and shame on us for having a system that allows this illegality.

It's hard to imagine a serious effort to fix the federal government that doesn't include court reform. This is not a generic point about bad faith judges. Successful political reform will require the root-and-branch elimination of interlocking con law doctrines that choke off legislative innovation

In destroying the Voting Rights Act and gutting the 14th and 15th amendments, the Roberts court is recycling legal arguments once advanced by Confederates and white supremacists to destroy Reconstruction. From me and @ariberman.bsky.social

Jim Crow was on the ash heap of history. Then came the Roberts court.
The disaster the justices have unleashed has its roots in one of the darkest periods of our past.

Democrats Are Ready To Take On The Supreme Court In 2028
The rise of a conservative supermajority on the court helped launch the push. But it’s that supermajority’s actions that have since turbocharged it.

I've never understood why we don't have a Presidential Records Act equivalent for the Supreme Court. The justices aren't so special. And their insistence on secrecy encourages people like Trump to resist transparency laws like the PRA.

It's worth noting that this isn't a random number but a goal that would simply restore the court to an earlier norm in which there's one justice for each of the judicial circuits. We used to have nine, we now have thirteen. The people defending the current setup have the tougher case to make here.

1. Expand the Court 2. Vote 3. If you can vote early in person, do that. 4. If you use a mail ballot, try to return it via drop box rather than USPS. Drop boxes are run by your local election office, not the feds. 5. If you put your ballot in the mail, send it as early as possible.

This Supreme Court supermajority is in cahoots with Trump and his anti-democratic regime to deny the sacred voting rights of American citizens. Their “emergency” mail-in-ballot ruling will create uncertainty, chaos & disenfranchisement. This court is an abomination, making an expand court critical.

Moderates (who want Dems to move right) say moving right is necessary if the party wants to reassemble lost supermajorities: arguable. Moderates (who want Dems to move right) say democracy can't be restored without supermajorities (which require moving right): Dead wrong, don't fall for it.
