Truly! The one saving grace is that it’s mega dry here, so air drying clothing on a rack indoors is very practical (though it takes up space, obvs) and the added indoor humidity helps cool the apt down a little.

My apartment complex is doing patio inspections tomorrow (lol) and has ever so politely reminded us that we can only have holiday decorations out up to 30 days before a holiday, cannot dry clothes outdoors or keep brooms/mops outdoors, and can’t keep anything but plants and outdoor furniture there.

I’m listening to his Desert Island Discs interview now but I found out from Wikipedia that he was born just before WWII in Warsaw. He also had a 40 year-long relationship with a man. Learning about him makes me feel held. He experienced a great deal of trauma. I feel so lucky to connect with him.

On a whim, I looked up the author of my beloved childhood pop-up book that took place in a colorful haunted house. I bought a copy of the book a couple years ago after finally figuring out the name of it from patchwork childhood memories. The author is Jan Pienkowski.

God, I miss the horchata they served at the now-defunct Mexican restaurant in my hometown. They served it in a thick margarita-like glass with bits of walnut and slices of strawberry in it. Maybe I’ll make a zine of the best foods I’ve ever had.

Oop I forgot to post my latest book class book! It was my first time using chipboard for a book and my first attempt at Coptic binding!

I’ve only really gotten anything done when I’ve been given clear, concrete tasks to help others. Even making meals has been this awful chore. But I’ve received a lot of kindness from friends and community members lately and that’s made a big difference.

I absolutely NEED to call the next new psych to try to establish myself as a patient and get ADHD meds again. I’m very grateful that my new GP bridged my SSRI but she couldn’t bridge any controlled substances. I feel like I can’t focus for any about of time most days.

There are lichen that grow inside of rocks in desert ecosystems (endolithic lichen) and they tend to host a whole microbiome within them. Some rocks are alive! How magnificent!

Just met my new GP and I actually like her! What a huge relief. Shes bridging some of my psych meds, too, and referring me elsewhere for my long term med management. This is such a huge win, y’all. It’s been brutal and this feels like the light at the end of the tunnel.
