For many people change is rarely easy, seldom convenient, but often necessary. Fascist / Nazis tend to exploit that simple human fact, while telling people that it's possible to have their cake and eat it too. A spoonful of sugar may help the medicine go down, but a spoonful of poison is still […]

Bonus points if you've taken the fact that Proton's CEO has also gone to praising Donald Trump.

Interesting enough, if you read any of their terms of services for any of their products today, they quote both Switzerland and US law throughout the terms of services, privacy agreement, and user agreement. They do not list the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, or any other country […]

When someone list Proton 4+ times, and 1st in every categcategory, and it is the only referral link they have managed to sneak in, perhaps your digital sovereignty or privacy and security is not their motivation. FYI: Proton started outside the USA, but now has offices, registration, and […]

@Climatehistories I have gone through your list, and while many of them started outside the U.S. Jurisdiction, and some of them remain so, many of them now have offices, registration, and trademarks in the USA. So if your goal is to completely escape the United States, many of the providers […]

Don't panic. Just because you cannot control everyone and everything in your life, or outside your life, does not mean your life does not have meaning, but know that your life is just as meaningful as the next person. You cannot account for everything and everyone, nor should you try. You're […]

Because you're not GOD, you cannot dictate the terms of conditions, the actions or inactions of others, anymore than anyone else can. Yes, people are going to disagree with you, just as often as they may agree with you. Yes, people are going to upset you, just as often as they may please you […]

You are not GOD. Something I have noticed is there are a growing amount of people who want to control how other people think, feel, act, or do. And if you do not do, act, think, or feel the way people want you to think, act, do, or feel, they act as if you somehow are inhuman. We are all […]

@Linux if it was getting that warm then aye the thermostat might've needed replacing, but either way you've got a blocked drip tube. When it goes into defrost mode, ice at the back melts and runs down a tube to a pan at the bottom of the fridge where it evaporates, sometimes helped by a fan […]

When the system hides behind technicalities — calling something “real” because it technically exists — it allows powerful institutions to claim they're doing their job without actually serving the public.

Linux Breaks 5% Desktop Share in U.S., Signaling Open-Source Surge Against Windows and macOS
Linux has surpassed 5% desktop market share in the US (5.03% in June 2025), per StatCounter, driven by privacy concerns, rising costs of Windows/macOS, and user-friendly distros like Ubuntu. Community celebrates amid gaming and enterprise boosts, though challenges like software gaps persist; analysts eye 7% by 2027.

Windows had DLL hell. Linux has dependency hell. Random1 is required for Random2, but Random3 was found. And so you cannot upgrade. But you cannot remove it either, because then it still wants Random1 for a dependency of Random4.

FYI I reviewed the entire lease and addendums — nowhere does it say we’re responsible for powering a working or broken fridge. A broken fridge drives up the electric bill (which I expect will be high), and since it’s hot to the touch, it’s a fire risk. They should have thanked me for […]

I don’t like it, but realistically, the path of least resistance — and maybe the quickest fix — is if they come tomorrow and see the freezer covered in ice (they’ve only ever seen it frozen, never hot), and if it’s still iced over, it might be easier to just say we’re getting our own fridge, and […]
