For many people change is rarely easy, seldom convenient, but often necessary. Fascist / Nazis tend to exploit that simple human fact, while telling people that it's possible to have their cake and eat it too. A spoonful of sugar may help the medicine go down, but a spoonful of poison is still […]

You are not GOD. Something I have noticed is there are a growing amount of people who want to control how other people think, feel, act, or do. And if you do not do, act, think, or feel the way people want you to think, act, do, or feel, they act as if you somehow are inhuman. We are all […]

@Linux if it was getting that warm then aye the thermostat might've needed replacing, but either way you've got a blocked drip tube. When it goes into defrost mode, ice at the back melts and runs down a tube to a pan at the bottom of the fridge where it evaporates, sometimes helped by a fan […]

We say we have justice because courts exist — even if they’re inaccessible to most. We say we have democracy because we hold elections — even if many feel voiceless or uninformed. We say we have a free press — even if that press is buried under profit motives, gatekeeping, and digital noise […]

We do not have real news in America. Real news tells the whole story — the wonderful, the good, the bad, and the ugly. It reports on politics without being political. That means it's not conservative, progressive, or even moderate. Real news doesn't give you its opinion — it sticks to facts and […]

Linux Breaks 5% Desktop Share in U.S., Signaling Open-Source Surge Against Windows and macOS

Linux has surpassed 5% desktop market share in the US (5.03% in June 2025), per StatCounter, driven by privacy concerns, rising costs of Windows/macOS, and user-friendly distros like Ubuntu. Community celebrates amid gaming and enterprise boosts, though challenges like software gaps persist; analysts eye 7% by 2027.

Windows had DLL hell. Linux has dependency hell. Random1 is required for Random2, but Random3 was found. And so you cannot upgrade. But you cannot remove it either, because then it still wants Random1 for a dependency of Random4.

One challenge with renting is knowing when to notify property management. You don’t want to be the tenant who constantly complains — if something isn’t urgent and can be handled reasonably or ignored, it’s often best to let it go. That’s why I’ve been feeling uneasy lately. Over the past week […]

Watching MAGA supporters turn against Donald Trump is something I never thought I’d witness. After all the horrible, reprehensible things he’s done — even to his own supporters — I had begun to believe nothing could open their eyes to who he truly is: a monster. But it turns out, they do have […]

I personally, disagree with Blue Sky's stance on this. But I am also not trying to please shareholders either. I get why some sites choose to block UK users — it’s the path of least resistance. But I’d rather not take that route. My goal isn’t to fragment access or limit the reach of the site […]
