Ottawa’s second annual BikeNight is Saturday September 12th. Ride departs 7:30pm. This year music will be heard along the route. Light up your bike with flashy decorations! The event is in the spirit of Montreal’s ‘Tour la Nuit’ which celebrates cycling and promotes safer cycling infrastructure.

The Glebe BIA had a report done about the area. We think this image perfectly encapsulates the reason for hesitancy by the business owners to get rid of parking. While 86% of the respondents who come to shop said they get there by means other than driving, 94% of the owners said they drove.

The expression ‘it’s common sense’ shuts down thoughtful discussion. Politicians employ it with no scientific basis. It’s manipulative, it stirs anger The common senses are limited and betray us. Ask Galileo. Scientific evidence takes us to places that our senses can not go. Eg.Magenta is made up!🌈

A fietser in Dutch is a term for someone who rides a bike for transportation. The term is used to describe casual cyclists who ride upright bikes and don't consider themselves to be any more of a cyclist than a pedestrian or driver. English could use such a term to shift the convo away from us/them
