Teenage Play matters The facilities provided in parks ‘for teenagers’ are often linked to sport and ‘play’ is ignored. 90% of current users of these facilities are boys & men. Teenage ‘play’ is different to that of younger children but equally important. Play could mean more girls in parks.

Not a word about the loss of space for play & hanging out, the widespread closure & defunding of youth clubs and wider social infrastructures (libraries, council gyms, etc), the hostility (from cars, adults, policing, disinvestment) and/or commercialisation of public space for teens, etc. etc. etc.
