I'm mad that Twitter keeps yanking me back bc it's where my friends are saying things

Today I had a fire to put out at work and I was so very happy that I had something meaningful to do

I used to have a phone shortcut for an ASCII shrug but for the last few years I just end up googling "shruggie" whenever I need it and plaintext-pasting from the Atlantic title article about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My take on the whole recent Oppenheimer porn tiktok drama is that if people have privately struggled with porn being a problem in their relationship and they found a way to manage it that works for them as a couple, good for them? And that's about all that needs to be said

Carnival Row is so much better than I ever expected from a "steampunk-flavored show about Faeries" Orlando killin' it--the drama and writing are great, also significantly more mature, serious, and darker than anticipated

How nerdy is it to put a sharp-edged fantasy knife replica in my kitchen just to cut cheese and maybe vegetables with

1/ Stuck-threading on BSKY because it feels somehow lower risk than threading elsewhere, and also I'm aware that threading like I do on Twitter might blow up feeds so I'll try to keep it short... But I feel stuck and it's frustrating.

In spite of spending almost as much time struggling with optimization settings as playing the game... Baldur's Gate 3 is an incredible work of staggering genius and you need to play it I'm already planning 2nd, 3rd, 4th playthroughs

To be clear, my issue turned out to be "your dock isn't working for stupid reasons that appear to only be fixed by reinstalling the default laptop Iris XE driver for unknown reasons... it will continue to crash every time you play BG3 and require another repair operation"

I'm going to lose my mind if I read one more hardware troubleshooting thread that confidently asserts that the issue is "most likely" a loose cord or that I just need to unplug and replug this is never my issue

I wish I could get into action-combat RPGs Seems like whole classes of very cool games would open up for me, but I just don't find it very rewarding I'm watching first looks at Wayfinders and I'm just like... eh

Forget about becoming the person you want to be: successful, lauded, confident, assertive, talented, rewarded, etc. Instead, work on being the kind of person you actually like to *be with:* kind, thoughtful, generous, easy-going, joyful.

We just had a guy in to fix some drywall and the sealant he used has made the whole apt smell like nail polish Anyway, I have a 2 hour product review in 20 minutes and I might be high on paint fumes, so you know, yolo

My following/follower patterns have no real rhyme or reason, here or on Twitter or anywhere else Why did I follow that person? Why didn't I follow that one? Why did they get blocked? idk man I'm just skating on vibes does the spirit move me to press the button is the only q that matters

Having absolutely wild and vivid dreams the last few nights on the nicotine patch--it's like being a teenager again with how strong they are Detailed, in-depth plotlines, fully realized dream characters... I'm tempted to keep some patches around for dream work

The BG3 genitalia options clearly meant well but uh... I'm not sure I need that level of realism in my fantasy RPG videogame

I spent 4 hours trying to get BG3 to work in split screen co-op mode today on my gaming PC and after the third crash in character creation we managed to discover that it's too laggy to be playable on the lowest quality settings possible RIP

Coming to Bluesky from Twitter feels like learning about just how addicted you are to dopamine in real time If you won't post it for 0-2 likes, are you posting _anything_ for the right reasons?

Liminal Warmth ❤️‍🔥 @liminalwarmth.bsky.social · 16/08/2023

This is interesting... Bluesky feels like a totally new feed where many of the people I know and joke around with on Twitter don't actually post here at all Feels very... well I was about to say Blue Sky but then realized 🙄

Baldur's Gate 3 is so large that I thought my download speeds must be cursed when I saw that it was gonna take 2 1/2 hours to download... ...nope, that's just how long it takes at 90Mbps

020

Liminal Warmth ❤️‍🔥 @liminalwarmth.bsky.social · 15/08/2023

Tryna stay off Twitter posting right now and the urge is strong, substituting Bluesky Coincidentally, also tryna quit vaping right now with patches It's alarming how similar these feel--don't love Twitter emotional dynamics atm
