We've both had the brush-off from Royal Mail, but she devotes an hour to haranguing them and Parcel Force. Lovely buyer messaged me today with an update. His parcel has magically appeared, intact and magnificently wrapped, if I do say so myself.

..but he still wants the annuals. I'm convinced they're still in the locker, and am tempted to head over with a crowbar - but the locker is on a petrol forecourt so I'm fairly certain I'll be on CCTV. Lovely buyer's wife, though, is some sort of warrior princess.

.. because he put that he still wants the items, but eBay has just refunded him. He thinks the money has come from me, but what actually had happened is that eBay has taken the hit. Rather than try to locate the parcel, they've simply paid him back, and I still have the original payment.

Bit weird. The following week, my (luckily) lovely customer lets me know the parcel hasn't arrived. Royal Mail still states that they're 'waiting to receive' it. I ask him to raise a dispute, as that's the only way we can query it with eBay. He then gets back in touch, mortified...

and the seller has to use it, or they're not covered if anything goes wrong. So, it being Sunday afternoon, I tootled off to the parcel locker and all was well. I got my emailed receipt and thought no more about it. Until Tuesday, when I got another email receipt for the same parcel.

I've been selling vintage annuals on eBay and one guy bought 16 of them. It was 'Simple Delivery' and the eBay bot, weirdly, decided that they should go in one parcel. For anyone that doesn't know, under this system, the seller doesn't receive the postage - eBay generates the label ...
