Episode 123 of the Think UDL podcast: Artificial Intelligence and Ethics with James Basham. Quotation from James Basham: But I think what we have to do in higher education is really think about the ethics-- the need for human interaction. We need to think about personalized learning, competency based learning, UDL,-- they all go hand in hand, and then we add AI to that, you have a lot of great potential there. AI makes it easier to access for more people.

EPisode 122: AI and Accessibility with Joe Houghton is now available. Quote: And that's when I decided to start each chapter with positive aspects of [learning disabilities]-- and then challenges in learning, whatever it is, to kind of turn that on its head, because I think there's power in words, and there's power in the order of words. And if you start with positive and then go to negative, that's a very different equation to starting with negative.

Episode 121 with @liznorell.bsky.social is now available!!! Listen here: thinkudl.org/episodes/ref... or where you listen to podcasts!
Episode 121: Reflection, Curiosity and Psychological Safety with Liz Norell. Quote: I think that that flexibility and choice is really important. But for some students, that is overwhelming, because the content library has over 300 things in it, and I'm asking you to choose 25 over the course of a semester. So how do you even begin? And so one of the things that I did was, say “if you don't know what to choose, here are three things-- do this” and provide as much structure as students will need to be successful.

Ep 120: The Double Empathy Problem with Aaron Lanou and Colin Ozeki
Quote: If we assume we're talking about non autistic neurotypical educators, being aware that there's more variability in the way we interact and communicate that is natural and valid. That has to be your starting point. We have to recognize that the barriers are created when we don't recognize differences in communication style as being inferior, or as Colin shared some of his stories, even being considered rude, that create barriers.
