"Stepping Up" or "Ladders to the Sky" is part of a new semi-autobiographical collection on objkt, "Heights". The collection is derived from my fear of heights. I might or might not have seen the suspension bridges, ladders, and staircases in my dreams. Sound on! objkt.com/tokens/KT1ST...

Meet up (pt.1) #art

Two of my characters on a street corner, one of them catching up while the other awaiting them. There's various posters and signs around the street corner, some of which show "missing" posters of missing persons. They're both wearing summery outfits iterating from their main outfits

Street Dreams & Urban Screens (And Crow and the Heart make another appearance 🐦‍⬛❤️) #UrbanGaze #HumansOfBlueSky #StreetArt #AlphabetChallenge #WeekZforZoology

A vibrant urban street scene showcases a wall densely covered in colourful graffiti, posters, and street art. In the foreground, a man wearing a reflective motorcycle helmet sits cross-legged, engrossed in his phone. Beside him stands a woman in a floral dress and white shawl, glancing at him. The eclectic artwork behind them includes robots, portraits, slogans, and surreal imagery, creating a dynamic urban backdrop.

Found in the streets of Penang: one very chill cat framed by a pyramid of lucky cats. Urban scape with a touch of zoology. #mural #streetart #urbanscape #urbanphotography #PhotographersOfBlueSky #ThePhotoHour 📷 #smARTist #bond #EastCoastKin #Scape #AlphabetChallenge #WeekZforZoology

This piece of street art is painted on a worn and weathered wall in Armenian Street, George Town, Penang. At the bottom center of the mural, a realistic, gray-striped tabby cat rests its front paws on a ledge, looking up with calm curiosity. The cat’s face is detailed and expressive, with bright eyes and soft fur.

Above and around the cat, a pyramid-shaped frame is formed by a pattern of red, stylized “maneki-neko” - the traditional Japanese beckoning cat often seen as a lucky charm. These red cats are stacked neatly in symmetrical rows, forming a sort of archway or shrine over the real-looking cat. Each of the red cats features intricate floral patterns within its belly area, adding an ornamental touch.

The combination of the detailed cat and the stylized lucky cats creates a playful and thoughtful contrast – blending realism with symbolic tradition. The rough wall and slightly peeling paint give the mural a gritty, urban texture, typical of Penang’s street art scene.

If I had my own place, I’d love to paint it like this. Or cover it with street art murals.

Yes, I am one of those annoying people who dislikes graffiti and calls it vandalism in stead of street-art. I prefer old walls looking like old walls. Hey being grumpy is one of the few perks of being old, leave me be. But... well, this I like. Sadly now gone.
