Decided to submit a couple remote runs to AGDQ just because. I don’t really expect either to get in, but I might as well give the producers a couple more options to pick from.

My biggest documentary project to date. The story of how F.E.A.R.’s speedrun was cut in half over a nearly 20 year timespan. It would mean the world to see as much support for this one as possible, and I hope everyone who takes the time to watch enjoys it. Thank you. youtu.be/_lVuI1vRb0k

Apparently there was speedrunning discourse today. All I’ll say is, if you think you can give your speed game a good showing, even if you don’t have a top time, submit it anyway and let the chips fall where they may. GDQ runs are performances for entertainment, not WR attempts.

Feels surreal to say it, but in just over an hour Cyberia will be on the GDQ main stage #SGDQ2026

Just 2 weeks from today I’ll be running Cyberia - All Unique Deaths (No Turret, No TF22) at SGDQ 2026 @gamesdonequick.com ! After submitting this absurd category for almost a decade, it’s time has finally arrived. I’ll see you all in Silly Block!

Lifel1ke @lifel1ke.bsky.social · 15/05/2026

Cyberia in Silly Block, Thursday morning at SGDQ, tune in to find out what in the world this category is

The follow-up to my SGDQ26 stats post, now with games list data! Looking at the %s for platforms and franchises, it seems like the accepted runs are a good representation vs % of submissions, particularly when looking at the minute count when not including backup runs. Google sheet link in replies

I threw together some tables based on the publicly visible SGDQ submissions list, just because I find this kind of data interesting. Mostly trivial at this point, but there could be more to analyze once the games list is available for comparison on May 1st. In case anyone else finds it interesting:

Lifel1ke @lifel1ke.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

My submissions for SGDQ. I feel like three of these have a good chance at getting in, and the other two are wildcards that probably won’t make it, but throwing them out there just in case.

Burnout 3 is underrated as one of the very, very best games of all time because you can show Burnout 3 footage to people two decades later and their reaction will still be "hell yeah, this rules. I wanna play this right now."

Lifel1ke @lifel1ke.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Jeopardy answers are supposed to be in the form of a question, and people always use “what is” or “who is”, but they don’t say that the questions have to make sense. I need someone to be up there answering with things like “when is teeth?” Or “why is George Washington?”

Lifel1ke @lifel1ke.bsky.social · 16/01/2026

Hit my goal time for Hell Is Us! This is probably as far as I’ll try to push this run for now, unless new strats are found.

Lifel1ke @lifel1ke.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

Managed to get a 2:11 after two attempts. It wasn’t a clean run by any definition, but not as long as I thought it might be after my casual play through. Hoping to get something like 2:05 soon.

Starting my 2026 Reading thread by re-reading Neuromancer by William Gibson. The book that kickstarted the cyberpunk genre, and a much better reading experience the second time around because it likes to throw a lot of jargon at you with little to no explanation. I would definitely recommend it.

A friend recently caught me off guard by asking if I would make a box for his dad’s ashes. He gave very little direction other than how big it should be, so I brainstormed for a few days and came up with this. I also found out the hard way why no one makes triangular boxes. He liked it though.

Man, I barely even stream and even I’m over Twitch’s new 100 hour video storage limit. Luckily I was already in the habit of exporting all PBs and worthwhile clips to YT so I shouldn’t have to do anything, but it still sucks.

Lifel1ke @lifel1ke.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

Just had this video pop up in my YT recommendeds. It was a good watch, and I kind of wish more game devs had this sort of attitude about speedruning www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WMu... (game looks pretty good too) #NotAnAdIveNeverSpokenToThisGameDevBefore
