Had a lovely Christmas get together with long-time friends yesterday. No phones. No photos. Just conversation and laughter.

Thinking about this chicken wing joint where I used to live called “Lord of the Wings." They had a sign in the window that said "Fry, you fools!" and they closed years ago but their top notch food punnery lives forever through me.

A cover illustration from John Bull magazine of a view over a bridge to frozen lake covered with small figures skating and trying to skate. Around them are buildings and winter trees.

Battled through the Christmas shoppers yesterday to get some stuff. Today is a day of rest and relaxation. Except if you’re @bowshaw65.bsky.social , who had a date with the outside Christmas lights 😇

It’s a slow start on BlueSky for me. Been on a week and no likes. Perhaps it’s because I keep blocking all the slime balls who slide straight into my DMs?

Just thinking (dreaming) how it would be wonderful if there was some kind of national campaign to support mid-list authors. Those that have been working tirelessly hard on their book projects for years… Readers might learn of new names and not the over promoted celebrities…

Our Trust has just completed another Pupil Reading Survey and I’m going through the results for my school. There’s a lot to do and as the Library Manager I feel like it starts and ends with me. Am I up to the task? Wouldn’t be working in schools if I didn’t like a challenge!
