FYI when we say ‘ugh where did summer go/how is it still raining/oh such a shame it’s grey today’ We really mean ‘what a great excuse to cancel plans/reading to the sound of rain is so cosy/can’t wait to get home to my book’ 🤗

You are allowed to read a book because you want to. You are allowed to put a book down because it's not working for you. You are allowed to try it again later and succumb to its charms. You're also allowed to never look at it again, or happily donate it in the hopes that it finds a better home.

The stylist that put Pedro Pascal in that black sleeveless top at Cannes legit needs to be given an award. Absolute genius 👏🏼 (Also, when I say I mentally recast every MMC in novels to be Pedro Pascal - that outfit is why.) #booksky #menwrittenbywomen

I just finished a romantasy that sums up why the subgenre has such a bad rep now & why I'm legit over it. If I have to read one one: 'but he's so hot!' with a paper-thin fantasy world - I'm gonna scream. (It was by a BIG trad publisher & well-known author, too 😬) #romantasy #books #booksky

I love cozy fantasy, but I'm concerned by the trend of all vibes, no substance. Whilst vibes are important to set the tone of the genre, it is not a substitute for plot and character development. You still need a story, not just descriptions of food. #booksky #cozyfantasy #books #reading #bookish

Book cover of Persuasion by Jane Austen with an illustration of a young woman dressed in a yellow regency dress standing at a large window in a victorian living room.
