I really dislike self help speech being called "therapy speak" my therapist doesn't say any of those words she just says shit like "why are you doing that?" "why do you think that is?" "is there a different way you could do that?" for an hour straight

Wrote some thoughts on these bookmarks I made for the BTS concerts as they brought many nice interactions. Wrote about concert freebie culture and how it builds community, the joys of sharing fanart in person, and ARMYs celebrating handmade art in the age of AI. liadhy.substack.com/p/bts-bookmark

Poster for substack article. Background image is multiple bookmarks I illustrated depicting BTS. Title text: BTS Bookmark. Subheading: All the nice moments a single piece of fan art brought me this summer.

The soft animal of my body wants to make so much art rn and absolutely none of it with any kind of coherent throughline or ability to benefit a career in a measurable way. My bodyanimal is saying we need to Dargermaxx. We need to sit on our scrolls & tapestries until death while we’re doing janitor.

Recently I have had to do my accounts every month because I got suckered into doing the ONS survey. I am lucky enough to have a brilliant accountant but it still takes half a day out of every month to prepare my receipts etc. Self employed people cannot afford to lose that time to admin.

Back from Paris which brings an end to my Grand Tour of BTS in Europe this summer. I thought I would be really sad at the end but I feel only joy after so many dreams coming true! 💜 You could also tell BTS really enjoyed their summer in Europe, I feel so proud of ARMY and so lucky 💞

It's a heatwave everywhere BTS go in Europe, and I found the heat in London to be particularly awful. But it doesn't slow the boys down at all. You could tell in quick moments of rest they were exhausted, and then they'd get up and fly around the 360 stage like its the first day of the tour. Unreal.

working on the zine for this years GIGF and remembered my favourite page from last year

Hey!
· i just wanna say it's never been easier
to start making games, there's lots of free
tools for folks just starting out. make weird
games, make something you want to
see! even just as a hobby, even just for yourself
or your friends, donʼt listen to the grind-set youtubers, ignore market demands,
ignore demographics, ignore payment companies,
'Good Game Design' is a myth, art can't be
made out of 'best practices', all design decisions
are specific to the game you are making.
games are a nascent art form, we've barely
scratched the surface of what they can express!
hopefully by creating more spaces like
this we can showcase the incredible things
being made and make people come away thinking
'maybe i could make a game!'

BTS and Bosch in Madrid. Literally my dream type of holiday and it happened to me this weekend

Wide-scale view of the BTS Arirang concert in Madrid at night time. Crowd is filled with purple lights. On the giant screen above the stage shows BTS sitting in a row from the back. Suga is wearing a jersey with a big 7 on it, representing the members of BTS.

Quick pencil sketch in a notebook of a section of Hieronymous Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights (1490 - 1510). A group of naked people are submerged in water, all eating from a giant blueberry. A man holds the stem of the blueberry from a hole in another large piece of fruit. Next to him are a woman and a heron also peeking out of the hole. It's a weird painting.

I also printed this BTS illustration I still love onto an A6 postcard! It's been so nice receiving freebies at shows in the past so I wanted to make my own :)

Postcard with an illustration of BTS printed on it. They are depicted from behind with their arms around each other. Confetti is falling and a light shines on them. The colour palette and confetti are references to their Permission to Dance tour. Below the postcard is the BTS bookmark I designed as above.

Designed a BTS bookmark to hand out at the Europe concerts! 💜 I'll be at Madrid, London and Paris stops. If anyone attending the shows would like to reserve one or do a swap, just let me know we can try make it happen 🌞 SEE YOU SOON AMI xxx #bts

Poster announcing my new BTS bookmarks that I illustrated and had printed on texture paper. The drawings of BTS are chibi/cute style and they are all smiling and singing, but in contrast they're wearing intense stage outfits of leathers, furs and chains. The drawings are done in sketchy black pencil.

Happy Pride to this Caravaggio self-portrait that made one man so gay he had to go to the hospital

Caravaggio's Baccus painting, featuring a lush fruity spread and leaves bedecking a pasty twink who only works out his arms

Article screenshot that says:

The most extreme examples of
Stendhal syndrome share a sensation of
self-fragmentation. Magherini
describes the case of a 53-year-old
German man who was hospitalized
after repeatedly viewing Caravaggio's
Bacchus at Uffizi Gallery. The patient
felt "an attraction closer and closer to
an intimate sexual arousal of
ambiguous nature that invaded him
and made him feel good and bad."
Unmoored and distressed, he sought
medical attention. After treating the
subject's initial episode, Magherini
writes that he came to recognize his
latent homosexuality. Another case...
