The woman who raised me was killed when I was 12. It was one of the most painful things I have experienced and the grief is still fresh over 30 years later. The government executing the killer wouldn't have changed any of that. The death penalty should be abolished.

One lesson I've learned from the zoom era is that unless I monitor and consciously make a different facial expression, I will look annoyed, not neutral. Permanently annoyed. My wife and I have been together for 19 years and she still can't tell when I'm actually upset or just not monitoring my face.

If you, like me, have a sore throat that is so bad it's keeping you from eating solid foods, go get a strep test. Seriously. I waited 7 days to find out I had strep and the nurse practitioner at urgent care felt sorry for me because my throat looked so inflamed. Don't wait till an NP pities you!

My housing plan for VT is that every house that sells for $750K or more gets a $50K tax that goes into a housing fund. 25% of that fund creates supportive housing and pays support staff livable wage salaries. 25% creates non-congregate homes for folks moving out of homelessness. (1/2)

In my 20s/30s pre-gaming for a pride party included lots of alcohol and fussing over my heavy eye liner. Now in my late 40s it involves making sure I take a Claritin an hour before I leave, packing bug spray, and using my wife's eyeliner to write my pronouns on my arm so I can just point if asked
