Hard to argue with that. I noticed that no GOP Senators argued with Jack Smith over the things he said regarding 45/47's crimes. Coincidence, I think not.

The last three months are the warmest on record globally, relative to every other June-July-August period since 1850. Data from NOAA/NCEI's NOAAGlobalTempv6.1.0.
Line graph time series of global land mean surface temperature anomalies for each June-August period from 1850 through 2026. There is a long-term increasing trend and large year-to-year variability. The mean surface temperature anomaly averaged for June-August 2026 was 1.21°C for global land areas. Anomalies are computed relative to a 1901-2000 climate baseline. Data from NOAA/NESDIS/NCEI NOAAGlobalTemp v6.1.0.

Signal from El Niño is starting to reveal itself when comparing monthly temperature departures across latitude bands, with a larger relative contribution to mean warming. [Plot shows zonal-mean surface air temperature anomalies, where latitude = y-axis (not scaled by distance). Data: GISTEMPv4.]
Bar graph showing zonal mean surface air temperature anomalies for the period of August 2026. All latitude bands observed above average temperature anomalies, except for the Antarctic.

Albuquerque keeps adding to the heat records this year. With today’s record-breaking high of 95°, we’ve now had 98 days at 90°+ and 55 days at 95°+, both all-time records. We’ll likely reach 100 days at 90° or hotter on Sunday. #NMwx

One of the most underappreciated climate risks is dangerously warm overnight temperatures. We’re seeing an increasing frequency of nighttime lows staying at 80°F (26.67°C) or higher. There’s no question that 2026 was the warmest contiguous US summer for this impact. Data: doi.org/10.7289/V5SX...

There was some silly chatter saying July's record wasn't a big deal for the U.S. because it was only for average/minimum temperatures. Well, looking at the bigger picture, 2026 is also running the 2nd warmest on record for maximum temperatures so far this year. 2012 & 2026 are well above the 1930s.

Really silly to see people grasping at straws against the reality of global climate change by still using examples from July 1936 (or 1976). The reality is increasingly obvious. Graphics are from slides in a presentation of mine, which use NASA/GISS GISTEMPv4 data (and their 1951-1980 baseline).
Screenshot of a slide showing two global maps with temperature anomalies in either July 1936 or July 2026. July 2026 is much warmer than 1936, except for a small region in the central United States during the Dust Bowl. Two maps side-by-side (June 1976 and June 2026) for surface temperature anomalies. It is much warmer globally in 2026 than 1976, which is more isolated for the heat extreme over the UK.
