Sorry, don't have any recommendation that might even remotely fit what you're looking for, but can I interest you in joining my new soap business?

Oh the other part is that I have the blocking profile scheduled to automatically activate at 5pm - so there is no manual clocking out required

Jeezy @lgug2z.com · 20/07/2026

I have it set up so that the NFC card is the only want to "turn off" the profiles that block the various apps before the timer is up So I can distribute a bunch of NFC cards to others to hide/keep for a breakglass scenario, but I otherwise have no power to disable the blocking until the timer's up

My inbox is now filling up with spam like this from ".shop" email addresses inquiring about buying @notado.app Pretty sure this is spam - have any other small SaaS founders been receiving these emails?

It will always be wild to me just how many doors open for you to fail upwards if you are a white man or woman in tech

Computers and programming feel so boring in the LLM age These days I'm enjoying amateur cinematography and dancing

There is also an alarmingly high tolerance for racist commentary on Hacker News these days It also has social norms against calling out someone for engaging in racism, genocide denial, Sinophobia, Islamophobia etc. Over the years I've watched it become a place where ignorance is the norm

the idiocy continues: turns out Photos Legacy doesnt allow browsing sibling files if launched from anything but explorer.exe so i also made my own image viewer 😅 faster and lighter than Photos Legacy and loads more format also "komorebi-aware" and fetches file sorting from my image editor

wallflasher is a VERY blunt and unsophisticated tool to solve a delicate and non-trivial problem its a thousand lines of C++ code by someone who shouldnt be writing C++ it uses Serge Zaitsev's cool jsmn to parse komorebi's wm events, and draws bitmaps onto a huge window but it works 🤷‍♀️

been enjoying @lgug2z.com's komorebi tiling wm i like individual wallpapers for workspaces, and komorebi supports that Windows' Wallpaper API, however, is… very Microsoft swapping wallpapers takes easily a second+ on my PC so i wrote another tool for myself lmao 😅 github.com/shinmai/wall...

🧵 China’s overlooked role in WW2: China lost 20 million people during WW2, second only to the Soviet Union which lost 27 million people. Between 400K-700K of Imperial Japan’s soldiers were killed by Chinese forces resisting Japanese occupation.

Used this at work (w/ Rust) for a complex global blue/green deployment workflow with staged regional rollouts which automatically roll back if target metrics regress I don't know why they waste time marketing it for all the other stuff - the killer application is orchestrating deployments

Dancing feels like my last link to sanity For a time I tried developing a notation system to write out choreography I wanted to model without actually having to dance every time, to visualize what fits together Now I realize if I had done that, my last link to sanity would have been lost

There are approximately 1.4 billion websites on the internet, most of which are likely to run JavaScript, some of which might be malicious. Because of the inconvenience of manually enabling JavaScript for maybe 0.00000714% you accept the risk of being exploited by potentially over 1.3 billion sites.

No problem, but that's not really jj way of doing it. I create a new revision and make all the adjustments in that revision and then run jj absorb (A key in jjui) which moves all the changes to the relevant revisions. Try it!

I want to be able to make a highlighted rev the working revision Super useful in changesets with multiple commits where I want to quickly go in and out of different revs to make small adjustments, then switch back to wherever the bookmark is and then push updates to my entire PR stack

The thing I love about the Komorebi License is that my fellow workers can use their collective bargaining power to act as decentralized license enforcement agents Submit an expense reimbursement request at work, it'll probably get auto-accepted, and that's pretty much it 🎉
