Abby Sparkles received her first dose of heartworm treatment today (goes in for the second tomorrow), and she did so good at the vet! She's pretty sore, but she has been able to sleep without a lot of fuss now the pain meds have kicked in.

Abby Sparkles has claimed this couch as hers and only hers until infinity.

Stuck on the couch next to this donut dog. Oh darn

While I do believe we should say something other than just girls & boys, adding in "everything in between" makes those that aren't the binary into objects. Why not just say "good morning, everyone" or something more inclusive? People are not objects.

Abby Sparkles isn't Percy's biggest fan and gets jealous quite easily. When it comes to nap time with me, however, she calls a truce which gives me hope. Treat time is also neutral ground with everyone eating only their nom noms (shockingly)

Abby Sparkles has been with us just a bit over a month now. As expected, there have been some struggles through the transition, but, overall, things have been mostly positive. She's settling in nicely and the cats have adjusted well. All in all, I'm glad we said yes to bringing Abby home

It's a great day to be on the deck here in MN regardless if you're a dog or human. Abby is focused on the lone chipmunk in the yard. Steve is a cautionary tale to all other chipmunks...

Abby has already come to realize that summer means lots of deck time while I read outside. Now if only she could realize that she could wander off the deck to go potty (the back yard is the only potty yard apparently...) Five days so far, and she's going great overall ♥️

Survived day 3 of the new school year, but today was a migraine day, so it hasn't been awesome...however, I have a new sticker for my work water bottle, and that makes me happy.

Today is the 80th anniversary of when the A-Bomb fell on Hiroshima, and I had the privilege to visit the Peace Museum and Memorial when I was on my recent trip to Japan. Lots of emotions that day, and I had been struggling to think of when to post pictures; today is a good day #Tripsamongfriends

Dad just went back for his back surgery...there's a tank of fish in the waiting room that includes both a jellyfish and this cool sea anemone. These are better photos than of the waiting room, etc. Dad's surgery is supposed to take between 6 & 8 hours. #surgery #sealife

A blue spotted jellyfish that is just chilling in the tank. It spins/rotates but doesn't seem to want to move from that spot.

A bright lime green sea anemone with peach ball nubs on the ends of its stalks. It's very chill in its corner and overshadows the other dark blue on farther in.

One positive to being home again is that Gizmo has been out and about a bunch and is curious and snuggly. So many positives!

On our last day in Japan for the #BestofSummer25 trip, we wandered over to Jimbochu (Book Street) to browse and smell books. We even bought a few gems including a copy of 1984 and the manga series Rough #travelamongfriends #bookstores

Hahaha! I was able to find and snag a copy of 1984 from one of the sale book tables out front. Maybe someday I'll be able to read this one *fingers crossed*

At the end of the street, we found a little shop that served various pork cutlets. This was mine and it was sooo good and juicy! Also, the "regular" size was definitely big enough for me.
