Genuinely saddened to hear this. I will never forget stumbling across "You're not supposed to be here" in the Build editor in the late 90s... exploring his work in Duke3D and figuring out how he made things look and play so well inspired the heck outta me.

Richard Gray was one of those industry vets I always looked forward to hanging out with when I had the chance. He was VERY smart and I always felt like I learned something just from hanging out with him. I'm thankful Rob and Christine Atkins introduced me to him. R.I.P. friend <3

Definitely won’t be as crazy, but the still-brittle infrastructure is always a concern! Fingers crossed 🤞

Definitely am, definitely feeling the anxiety. Thankfully all local weather sources say maybe a few inches of rain and mid-tier wind gusts in Asheville.

Aw yeah it's back to 1996 on LGR youtu.be/o0wDkCp3Eu4 Checking out the graphics card Sierra On-Line ever sold: the Screamin' 3D! That alone makes it a notable oddity, but it's also a Rendition Verite V1000, which can provide some awesome results!...and a slew of shortcomings and mid-90s quirkiness

Ah right! The ability to play on modern system + modern networks/online is the biggest thing of course. The huge lag between changes being made and actually showing up in a city needs fixing. It'd be great to have more objectives/goals/subterfuge between players. And CPU-controlled opponent mayors!

New LGR travel vlog! youtu.be/w-XF5j6x0hs The 2026 Vintage Computer Festival Midwest experience as it was for my brother Luke and I during that weekend in September. I drove directly to the show this time, so no Chicago city stuff unfortunately. But I ended up seeing a lot more of the show itself!

Probably the best Windows 9x defrag simulation I've seen thus far! defrag98.com It's a more legit simulation than I've seen before. So each time you load this up you get a new virtual drive that's differently fragmented, rather than just playing back a preset animation

a screenshot from the upcoming remake of Tomb Raider 1. lara croft is looking at her phone in the middle of an ancient ruin, and it's showing her a generic crafting menu, and a png of saucepan of stew that apparently her phone lets her cook for "Damage resistance" if she has 6 potatoes

This is amazing! SimCopter had a great soundtrack by Jerry Martin but the game’s files were highly compressed. So LucasVB got in touch with Mr. Martin and he was able to find most of the original high quality tracks! Awesome to hear “Hangar” in such clarity after 30 years archive.org/details/SimC...
