yeah i could have totally lingered in the space a bit more! i also think it could have pushed the horror elements like 15% more. loved it regardless, excited to see where starling goes next

i'm also happy to do consulting or contract pipeline auditing work on a sliding scale if your team needs some corrective help!

also: got a small extension on my contract so 🎉 my bills are paid for a few months longer. but if your team is hiring a mid-sr art or cine prod in the new year, either in baltimore county or remote, pls keep a leyla in mind

reaching for u . we are aligned. would you like to read the draft of my paper

i just wrote nine pages about why production is a communications and storytelling craft. spent my entire workday being reminded that it's also a great career track for logic puzzle and whodunnit perverts.

writing in games should be closely linked with personification and progression. when we do level design we consider and manage the flow of the player’s attention, what to tempt with, what to highlight and what’s clutter. but it’s less common to give this sort of attention to narrative

i can see a liiittle bit of added crispness and fidelity in a couple of textures. but the question with fidelity is as always, does that crispness and fidelity serve a purpose? does it make the action more legible? i have never played these games so idk. but that's always my first thought.

well if you stumble upon anything particularly good pls continue to post about it so i can add to my own ever-expanding list !! reading more this year has been the best thing i've done for myself

i got city of glass on my list as well! i'll get to it eventually there is an EMBARRASSING stack of books haunting me 💀 and that does make sense! both were written for me in a lab so i tend to evangelize. they are definitely Particular haha

i think having a formative indignity like being lightly traumatized by a bugs bunny game as a child is important for character building

can i offer you either nghi vo's singing hills cycle or she who became the sun by shelley parker-chan

Longplay of Bugs Bunny & Taz: Time Busters

i am 99% sure it was this viking sequence. the approaching the darkness with all those glowing eyes really got my ass

a different movie with a scary rat scene that my parents were watching while i was supposed to be asleep maaay have spooked me before robin williams walking on the faces of the damned but "90s movie with scary rat scene" is actually too vague for ddg (i did try)

there is arguably a movie i remember scaring me first and i genuinely cannot believe that this vague-ass search query did it

ddg search query: movie about a man whog oes through hell to rescue wife
search results: what dreams may come (1998)

i try not to do this too often but this is too funny a reveal to skip

i'm about halfway through the manga volumes that have been released. normally i'll read manga online and pick up physical volumes if i really enjoy them but daemons i just started buying blind and i have zero regrets. i really gotta take another swing at silver spoon

arakawa is really the author of All Time to me because she somehow manages to tell a really heartfelt story while getting increasingly silly with it. she really said "i would like to do another long-running drama with suffering siblings, however this time there will be little creatures involved."

he called me specifically to kill time on a three-hour drive and we spent about 45 minutes of our 90 minute conversation talking about our CSA boxes and the perils of having too much repeat fruit stacking up
