The big orange pedophile is in a nearby city today but thank god my boss let me not come into the office because of the traffic it's gonna cause. Also it's rained almost 4" in the last 12 hours. Even mother nature is trying to wash that shitstain away 🤣

It’s very simple and it’s been said over and over but I guess it needs saying continuously: if you deem one group too small to have equal rights you are enabling fascism, not fighting it. The people saying Dems are GREAT on trans rights are not paying attention and/or saying stuff like this.

Nichole Hiltz
The Democrats defend the Kennedy Center but not trans people.
A building.

maybe because defending everything about a super small minority of the population is not worth losing to fascists

100% the vibe that Lanterns poster gives off

A two panel cartoon the first showing someone peeing at a urinal, and a second person walking past. Second panel shows rhe second person peeing at the Urinal next to the first. Underneath that is the Lanterns poster with Hal Jordan looking straight forward and John Stewart giving him the angry side eye, the ol’ hairy eyeball.

On Friday I got to see my grandmother for the last time. Her eyes widened in recognition and she smiled although words no longer came to her lips. At least she was surrounded by love until her very last breath. Still, while I can't imagine better circumstances, my heart struggles to contain the loss

I rented a rug cleaner from a local Lowe's and there was a huge tag on the handle of it saying that that it needed to be cleaned before return or there would be a fee applied. So I did, very minimal. I just returned it and the guy examined the bottom and breathed a deep sigh of relief and said-

Responding perfectly normally to the news of Dolly Parton's death by scheduling a tattoo appointment in a couple of weeks. I love that Dolly's influence made it around the world to Japan where my favorite mangaka used her as inspiration for the badass that is Jolyne Cujoh.

My mom and I are visiting my grandmother in her memory care facility and they have regular events for the residents. Today is a Bible reading that's fairly neutral, but in trying to say "Pharisees," a woman said "Fajisees," and it took every ounce of self-control not to say "what did you call me?"

This week's sourdough is a black pepper parmesan that my husband said is his favorite so far!

A fresh home-baked loaf of sourdough bread with black pepper and parmesan mixed in. The crust is a nice golden brown and there's a slightly obscured leaf design cut into the top of it.

I baked my first two sourdough loaves (with a starter) last week using a very simple recipe, and just finished my second pair of sourdough loaves today after doing much more research. First pair was plain, second pair has kalamata olives and rosemary baked into them. They're cooling now!

Two small loaves of sourdough that are very light in color and haven't risen very well.

My first painted minis: two little termagaunts. I realized I want a flesh color lighter than the Bugglow I have, and that I need to thin the Magos Purple contrast a bit more (left was my 1st go and 2nd was my right), but overall the general ideas made sense. Not much to do but keep practicing!

Two painted Warhammer 40k miniatures of Tyranid termagaunts. The left mini is painted with a deep purple for the scales and a lighter purple over the main body while the right has a nicer, lighter purple shade over the main body and the same deep purple over the outer scales.

Sock pair #2- "CRT" is finished! I experimented with a 2x2 rib from cuff to the toe decreases and across the in-step, and am happy with the fit and look! I already have a few other sock yarns in the chamber while I figure out what else I want to try. I need blockers but not urgently 🤷‍♀️

First pair of socks done! I ran out of yarn on the second (by a much wider margin than the first 🤣), but I feel like I learned a ton. I've got some new circular needles and more sock yarn and it's time for round two!

The first sock is done and the second has been started! I knit the XL size from the pattern I used and had some scary yarn chicken at the end, but I cut my losses and closed the toes a few rows early and it all worked out. The construction could be slightly tighter but a big first success!

A hand knit sock lays on my lap. It's got wide bands of red, gray, and brown stripes with thin gray and red transitions between them.
