Why the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival matters (and writing a book about it)
Was Glasgow's Garden Festival a pivotal event in the city's decade of self re-invention, a colossal waste of resources, or a great day out?

Striped mooring posts lining Mavisbank Quay in Glasgow. These bollards were painted by the French conceptual artist Daniel Buren in his trademark black and white stripes for the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival. Cont./ #glasgow #publicart #glasgowhistory #mavisbankquay #danielburen

Having raised the alarm and been one of the first formal objectors to the demolition of this prominent Glasgow landmark, we have added our voice to this call asking Dep First Minister Jenny Gilruth MSP, to 'call in' to Scot Govt the local Planning Committee's decision to allow its demolition. (1/3)
