Our little orange guy had giardia when we rescued him off the street corner. We paid extra to get his liquid medication flavored and then had to surround it in a moat of churru but it worked. And now he enjoys a parasite-free, indoors lifestyle.

I guess I’m doing #Inktober but only the prompts in my skill area & at my leisure. I am always nervous about inking my sketches. What if I make a mistake!! But this will be a nice practice in NGAF. Here’s yesterday’s prompt. An ogre.

Pen sketch done by me using a Zebra Fudenosuke style pen. He’s got large tilted elf like ears and a pronounced brow. His pupils are snake-like. He has long stringy twisty sideburns and a goatee. His sniff looks like it’s made from a furry material.

It was actually Ange who reminded me of this themselves in their graphics training. & now I do this stuff for social graphics sometimes (the graphic is the selfie with the sign)

Thanks for all the great music, Cronos! I’d say the first two Venom albums are their best but I was impressed that the 2026 one was so solid. That’s a long legacy! We were saying we thought of Venom guys as being older than the trash metal crew but they are actually not! Cronos was 63.

I've always been interested in Satanism, but we're entertainers, and we used subjects like Satanism and paganism to entertain people, like horror movies do.

He ate part of a gym mat once and we had to stop him from eating a bolt that fell on the floor. I know why he’s like this (he experienced food insecurity when he was a little street man). And meds did help. This is from he tried to fit into a 2 inch tall box. He failed. Then he fell asleep.

Axl has been diagnosed with being a Little Orange Lad. It’s not contagious. You either got it or you don’t. (He is also diagnosed as allergic to everything but that’s another story)

To this day he still does the thing he did when we met him: flop down on his side and making kneeding motions in the air. Even now when he’s a perfect cuddler & Lap Lad he still doesn’t kneed us, he kneeds the air. It means “Look how cute I am! Come pet me!” And I don’t have video of him doing it!

Whenever Axl makes bad choices like eating random stuff that fell on the floor, or bugs he’s allergic to, I do remind him that when it counted the most, he made a very good decision. And I know when he makes bad decisions it’s just because he used to be a little street man eating bugs & garbage.

Axl the cat, sits in my lap, his toothless mouth is open because that’s what happens when he looks up at things. He is looking up because a fly got in the apartment and watching it is the most exciting thing that happened that day.

We knew he needed us cuz he had a wound on his jaw & had balls. I’m proud of him for letting me pet him even when we didn’t have food to bribe him with. My spouse raced home to get treats and a crate. This cat, who’d never met met before, seriously waited with me 20 minutes instead of running off!

The Vincent’s original eye makeup were fake eyelashes drawn on in mascara not the horror eyes , and they used to wear women’s ice-skating costumes.

Original Alice cooper makeup is borrowed from a Joffrey ballet poster. Christine Frka aka Miss Christine did the original makeup designs and helped establish the band’s look.

I must also say how extemely trans Orion’s story reads to me now (the Jack Kirby story, I haven’t been able to grab her Orion book yet, but I will!) Motherbox is HRT! So many trans women in particular have said that’s their read too. Curious what a trans man’s perspective on that would be.

The Pact, the Scott Free and Orion storyline is a mythic look at the question of nature vs nurture. It’s shaped by Kirby’s experience as a Jewish person fighting Nazis. When people make Orion a jerk they are missing the entire point and reinforcing the idea that biology is destiny. Stop it.

People often get Orion wrong and characterize him as a jerk. That's a little boring to me. (Do people think he's Guy Gardner? Is it the red hair?) His rage is so pure! His anger is so righteous! His fury so noble! It's a rage co-signed by the Source, man. Why taint it with, like, typical alpha male arrogance? Yuck! (If anything, Orion is canonically clinically depressed. Let's talk about that.)
Rage -intense anger—is an emotion that points to extreme injustice. In this case, it is rage toward the villainy of Darkseid who wishes to enslave all life in the universe. New Genesis is a place of diversity, empathy, widespread knowledge, equality and freedom
— all things that Darkseid and fascist leaders hate. (Have we talked about Kirby fighting in World War II?) If Scott Free represents resistance and resilience against fascism, Orion embodies the righteous anger needed to dismantle it brick by brick.

We had a SIC of the tuxedo variety so he didn’t have wrist stripes he had white gloves and pink beans but I mention him because the fur we’d pull off the brush was grey even tho he wasn’t. So we said somewhere inside Rocket there’s a grey cat.

So for me they do get us out of bed but not going on a walk. We do like to dangle toys at our cat and throw small objects for him to chase & leave out bags for him to dive bomb. I have never attempting leash training. We live in the city.

But yeah, you can give your cats allergy shots at home. Their bodies are basically a sack so they’re easy to inject. When we rescued him he had all sorts of parasites & we wonder if those parasites were keeping his allergic responses suppressed or something. Anyway here’s Axl.

It’s the jaws poster but with the underside of my cat’s head instead of the shark’s. It says Jaws 4 teeth because he had four teeth. Now he has zero teeth though.
