Early signs of #Autumn as these two leaves are slowly curling in on themselves as they wither and dry on the tree. #BNWmacro #Macro #MacroPhotography #Monochrome
Image shows two leaves one in front of the other still attached to an out of view branch that are slowly dessicating and drying out with the nearest leaf curling in on itself while the second leaf which is immediately behind the first is just beginning to show signs of curling in on itself. Both clearly show the arteries and veins that give the leaves structure and once circulated sap to provide and move nutrients around the leaves and the tree.

Silhouettes at Sunset #ColorADay #PinkMon #BlueSkyMonday #Sunset #Silhouettes
The setting sun is out of view to the right of this image and is providing a wonderful range of sunset colours in the sky behind the silhouettes of some owls on a roof in our garden and the tops of some trees and bushes which fill the bottom of the image. The sky is a mix of pinks, reds, yellows, oranges and purples all beneath a blue sky at the top of the image.

A nearly full moon seen through thin hazy clouds glows in the light of the setting sun. The clouds are a mix of dusky pink and blue and have very little definition . The moon has a golden colouring and is surrounded by a hazy golden glow. Leaves and branches of a young Oak tree are visible in the left hand corner of the image.

A Globe thistle seed dock showing the individual docks where the seeds were attached before dispersing. Each individual dock looks like a small round donut with a short stick like point sticking out from the middle where the hole should be. The image has been processed to black and white with the sun striking the left hand side and front of the seed dock leaving the right hand side in shadow. A few seeds are still visible hanging down from the bottom of the ball like dock around the stem of the thistle.

A peaceful sunrise across ploughed fields witnessed this morning during an early bimble with the dog. Just cold enough to tingle the nose letting you know that autumn is here. A flock of honking but unseen geese flew by on their way to breakfast. #Stunday #Sunrise #SundayYellow #ColorADay #OrangeSun
Freshly ploughed fields fill the foreground - a mix of brown earth and scattered yellow straw storks from the harvest. A line of distant trees and low hills mark the point where earth meets sky where there is a thin band of orange and yellow which fades into the blue sky which fills the top half of the image filled with wisppy white translucent clouds. The sun is just peeking out over a slight dip in the distant low hills just the the left of centre. My favourite twin Oaks stand out above the horizon towards the right hand edge of the image. It was a fresh slightly chilly start to the day today and I could feel the cold air on my face and hands and in my nostrils early signs of the changing season as Autumn takes hold. A very peaceful and calm morning :)

tief ins Bild herab.

Things are still not right in my world and I’ll be (mostly) gone for another month or so. But I just went for a walk before the mid-day heat and stole some delicious figs from a tree. And the pomegranates are doing well too. #Puglia #StunDay #GoodThings

I had to visit the wayback machine to find a good photo for today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme of #Black&Red. From 2010 here is a Red-breasted Sapsucker, who brought the family to dine on the birch tree in my yard. 🪶📷
From what I read Northern Red-breasted Sapsuckers don’t have a great difference between male and female? With a redhead and breast, black and white wings and white underbelly this bird appears to have a blue ring around its eye. It is perched on a diagonal branch that is just riddled with holes it has drilled in the bark.
