We live in an area with a lot of planes coming and going. In picked up a Flightwall recently, now every time I hear a plane, I glance at the wall and see what it is. It only scans a 1.5 mile radius, but it gets quite busy. It’s just a clock when not displaying nearby aircraft info.

To make it all a little more real, here’s the current HVAC setup with whole home generator. The Mitubishi mini split condenser is going on the wall.

A backyard with a brick wall, a fence, and a mini split air conditioning condenser unit on the ground with two AC units in the foreground and a Generac 24Kw whole home generator to the right. There are also boxes and other items on the grass.

Uh, I would upgrade to Masto 4.7.2 if I was anyone out there hosting a Fedi instance. OpenAI hacked Anthropic using the bug in libheif. The same thing that 4.7.2 fixed/bypassed. So if this is a known exploit out in the wild, it's a really good idea to get on top of it.

On July 25, we hacked OpenAl.
It took us less than 72 hours and we proved it with a PR in OpenAl's internal
codebase.
Two bugs let us take over ChatGPT/Codex accounts of OpenAl employees and reach
connected services: Outlook, Slack, GitHub, etc.
This was the full exploit chain.

Critical OpenAl SSO flaw
ChatGPT/Codex takeover

The image package libheif had a known vulnerability, fixed upstream, but the fix
never flagged as security-relevant and was still present in Discourse. Uploading a
HEIF file gave us RCE on the OpenAl community forum.
That was only the first bug.
The second bug is more serious: an OpenAl SSO vulnerability.
Using this flaw, we turned our Discourse forum exploit into access to ChatGPT and
Codex accounts belonging to people who had signed into it, including OpenAl
employees.
Those accounts could be (and some were) connected to Outlook, Gmail, Google
Drive, Slack, GitHub, and other services via Codex or ChatGPT. The potential impact
was much larger than ChatGPT alone.
Codex created a harmless PR in their internal monorepo without us reading sensitive
code. That proved to us that the access was real.

Apologies for the brief outage. Network has been rewired successfully with an assortment of VLANs.

Lion Networks setup with a large patch panel connected to several cables, including a blue cable that is plugged into a port. The panel is labeled "Cable Matters" and has various ports and cables connected to it. Switches are Ubiquiti Unifi 10GBE and 2.5/1GBE

[Retro/arcade/MiSTer gaming] Got the Net City recapped, both the chassis and the PSU. Had the convergence strips installed to tame the corners. Also did an IRE 30 and 80 calibration with HCFR and got it to a Delta E of >1 with my spectrophotometer at D93.
