Fascinating view by @carlminzner.bsky.social , on long-term interactions between a country's policy and demography. A very critical perspective is assumed regarding China. Such interactions also need to be detailed regarding other political systems, especially democracies with short election cycles!

To quantify tax revenue losses due to AI, @economist.com has now estimated reductions induced by a 10% loss in labor’s share of national income. Among 9 OECD countries, Germany was ranking third, further underlining the need for monitoring and consideration of this issue. bsky.app/profile/econ...

Fine article! An aspect for ageing societies: AI-powered robots substituting workforce seem attractive for them. But with tax revenues (primarily derived from labor) declining, funding their high social security bill would further be undermined. This would especially raise their need for tax reform.

A sober view on the impact of the Iran war on the US. With a substantial share of the war's impact born by other countries, the respective political costs will add to the US bill.

AI seems able to condense moods and expectations in a society from the web. Future paths may partly depend on these, also interacting with political change. This may lead to surprising capabilities in describing possible futures, as an example from 20 months ago shows. bsky.app/profile/leid...

Preventing cyberattacks on health care is important for health loss incurred (including equity aspects, given the higher health burden linked to lower socioeconomic status), and for economic loss. Regarding the improvement of health care, health research centers should be included here, too.
