Aconite (also known as monkshood and wolfsbane) is a group of flowering plants infamous for their poison. In Greek mythology, the goddess Hecate invented aconite, and in Ovid's "Metamorphosis," it came from Cerberus' mouth. In many stories, aconite repels vampires and werewolves. #WyrdWednesday

In medieval European folklore, mandrake root could be made into good luck amulets, and was a key ingredient in various magic potions. However, the mandrake would scream if pulled out, killing anyone who heard it. Thus, sorcerers would tie the root to a dog, and have them pull it out. #WyrdWednesday

#LegendaryWednesday According to #Mythology Pan is dead, however this can be refuted by his attendance at the New York Doll's Halloween show at the Waldorf Astoria, 1973. There was a riot before the Dolls hit the stage so its possible it might have been down to Pan's presence.

At the spring equinox, Teotihuacán swells with visitors, coming to seek the old Aztec gods for health and vitality. This is an attempt to honor indigenous ancestors and their astronomical prowess: many buildings line up with the equinox exactly. #LegendaryWednesday
While it looks like women doing yoga on Teotihuacán's Pyramid of the Sun, they are actually stretching their arms to the sun and asking it for energy. Each one wears white, save one in pink pants and one with a pink sweater around her neck, and all wear hats. The edge of the temple has orange tape to prevent them from falling.
