If I could give one piece of advice to every single person doing a crowdfunder, it would be this: set your campaign to finish in the first week of the month, when most people have just been paid. you are asking people to lay little financial booby traps for themselves, try minimise the damage.

Second was a bit tougher, but knowing it was related to Brainiac led me towards the right path. Tri-Beasts appeared in the first Luthor-Brainiac team-up from Superman #167 (1963). Very unusual because that story was only reprinted once after (as of 1978/79), in Superman #245 (1971)

JUDGE DREDD COMPLETE CASEFILES v10 gets off to a cracking start with a macabre 2-parter illustrated by Kevin O'Neill - his first so far as I remember, and either they picked the perfect story for him or he makes it his own. His Cursed Earth is weird and grotesque, as it should be.

Star Wars: Squadrons was released 6 years ago today. So it's a good time to revisit the "Hunted" short by ILM that preceded the game's release. Arguably the best fiction showcasing the TIE Interceptor from the Disney era. Lucasfilm should produce this kind of promotional project more often.

September reading - shockingly low turnout again, but still loving my Dredd Casefiles read through. Got surprisingly side-tracked by Alan Moore's early Image work (a somewhat frustrating revisit). The Last Halloween was terrific. Void Rivals is a surprising treat - like Saga with Transformers

The revived EAGLE (1982) was ostensibly the family-friendly alternative to 2000 AD. Nevertheless, it gave us the famously creepy Doomlord, dystopian nightmare The Tower King, fearsome dinosaur Bloodfang, and gritty dole drama Dolebusters!

Saw RESIDENT EVIL tonight - fantastic, great companion piece to HOPE funnily enough. Very creepy very gruesome (somehow only a 15) and pretty funny too - from the same writer/director as WEAPONS, but the horror/humour mix worked a lot better for me here. Short and punchy too, only like 95 minutes.
