Every Thanksgiving, I wear a shirt of a skull that's a depiction of an old bookplate so that my nephews know that going into the arts and being smart, educated, impoverished, and good at your job is also an option that's still available to them. Just one of the many services I provide around here.

Twice this week, since FB moved the "Your Story" button on Messenger, I've accidentally shared some dumb photo, like a pic meant for a silly chat thread, or a model # of a Shop-Vac, to FB, & had to vexedly scramble to a PC to delete it. Detective Trevor Hayes didn’t expect to meet his new partner over a dead body. A rich boy lawyer from Boston wasn’t who he had in mind either. The two of them have nothing in common—apart from a good taste in suits—and the drama Noah brings into the partnership is something else. What was their captain thinking?

The death of a young woman is puzzling. There are no signs of violence or any evidence of outside presence, but the body has clearly been staged. Was the death an attention seeking stunt gone wrong? Or is it work of a very careful killer? Evidence points to several directions at once, and one of them is Noah’s ex, Assistant DA Oliver Prescott.

Noah and Trevor have their plate full with the puzzling mystery, Noah’s ex, and his aunt, a criminal psychologist with her own views about the killer. Can the new partners solve the mystery before they become the next victims in the game of poisons?
