Given the couple of hours sleep I've managed tonight, I think I might have overestimated the extent to which I was over my jetlag 🫩

Heading home after a great couple of weeks exploring some of eastern Canada. Loved it and will definitely be back. Next time, heading west.

Happened to be in Toronto for the end of #tiff and managed to bag a couple of tickets for @manmademoon.bsky.social's Rogue Trooper, after missing out on tickets for #lff. A really fun movie, visually inventive, some great comic performances and a fab soundtrack. Hope it finds its audience.

It's not been the best week, but a couple of hours down on the beach this afternoon and a quick dip in the chilly sea was a nice way to unwind.
A photo of the view across the water to the funfair on Brighton Pier. There's a large mural of two deckchairs on the beach, a helter skelter, rollercoaster and log flume.

Week 4 of C25K and my knees are holding up ok I think 🤞 Maybe I might be able to get back to it after all?

First very tentative run for a looong time, to see if my knees are still knackered. Starting almost right back at the beginning of C25K. Stamina and pace are shot, not sure how happy the knees are, but we'll see. It's a start. 🏃

Lily Allen can do what she wants with her live show. I saw it at Mighty Hoopla and really liked it, and it seemed just as advertised to me. But it made me think of what a great job Kate Bush did of balancing the theatrical and crowd pleasers at her Before The Dawn shows without compromising either.

RIP David Hockney
I’m 82, I’m going to die. We die because we are born. The only things that matter in life are food and love, in that order, and also our little dog Ruby. I truly believe this, and for me, the basis of art is love. I love life.

Hoopla highlights included Lily Allen, Scissor Sisters with Belinda Carlisle and Sir lan, Jane McDonald who totally knew her audience, a boy band where singing was well down the audition criteria, and after 21 years of being with her number 1 fan, finally seeing Heather Small

I've had a headhunting email from a company who clearly knows nothing about me and has the kind of name which means they couldn't sound more like an evil corporation from a dystopian sci-fi film if they tried. I think I'll pass, thanks.
