So, it’s all under the MVA for police to enforce, because the noise bylaw is about neighborly relations. If your neighbour has a modified muffler that bothers you, you can 311 that under the noise bylaw. I haven’t heard if new TSAct will address modifications or not.

Paris has been praised in recent years for their visionary, progressive city-building, but they don’t get enough credit for just being really pragmatic! Everything they’ve been doing is common sense. They’re moving a lot more people with less space while cleaning the air and cooling the city.

Centre plan zone map shows ER-2 on Young Ave, and ER-3 on MacLean. I understand it has been vacant 10+ years, and I don’t know the history of development attempts or not. Anyhow, the zoning is the same all along there. We have lots of ER-2 & ER-3 in D7/8/9

The Macdonald Bridge will be closed to all traffic, including pedestrians and cyclists, from 8PM on Friday, Oct 2nd until 5:30AM on Monday, Oct 5th for Project LifeSpan work.

Orange Shirt Day is a day to remember those who were forcibly taken from their families and culture and put into residential and boarding schools. There they suffered horrific abuse simply for being Native. My grandma was one of those children.

We also need a new reporting system, clearly! People should be able to report being hit by a driver, near misses, crashes, close passes, drunk/distracted/aggressive driving, all without being victim blamed or made to regret their decision to report. Don’t involve the cops unless it’s necessary.

The CAP doesn't really annihilate city finances. We set a tax rate and CAP really has no bearing. What it does is shift how municipal costs are spread between folks. Decades of low density single-use, car centred development is a financial cost, but that's not the CAP. Similar roots, diff issues

Not really. It just redistributes what each of us pay fairly. The report is awesome. 16000 households are paying more under the cap than they would be without it (because the rate would decrease). Any change is a provincial decision.

Are you a university student living off campus? Being a good neighbour starts at the curb. Make sure your garbage, recycling and organics are sorted correctly, placed out on collection day only and properly secured to prevent litter and wildlife issues.
