FurAffinity (a furry focused online art gallery) is looking for funding after refusing to comply with advertiser demands. And oh boy are some of those advertiser demands are pretty ridiculous.

I lack the commitment to raising orchids from seed in the usual sterile lab conditions with flasks etc but I’m tempted to try without it. Otherwise I’ll just let them disperse in the wind like normal

Its bloom is well finished but I managed to get a couple pics. A couple flowers must’ve been pollinated bc I’ve ended up with orchid seed pods for the first time ever?!

Dendrobium speciosum with two flower spikes in bloom.

Closeup of the flowers. The whiter ones are the newest.

Huge freaking seed pod and a second smaller one against my hand.

i'm glad i full sent it on the weird biotech of this future which is otherwise very blocky and utilitarian. i'm a spec bio nerd at heart. enjoy the brain hole

loose digital sketch of the wyvern's artificial anatomy, specifically its spinal column, brain case, and access hatch. its brain/central computer is located in the base of its neck, above the cockpit.

most of its systems relating to sensing and movement rely on cell-based processes (wet) whilst its structural components are mostly metal/plastic/ceramic (dry). its armour plating specifically is plastic deposited by bacteria that live inside the spongy cortex of each plate, which also allows it to self-heal.
still a WIP

ah what the hell i'll give you the robit

Digital sketch for a two page comic spread. Turns out Sonny is gawking at the titular Wyvern, a giant biomechanical, quadrupedal robot. It's still in the shop (ie hangar).

-difficult to work on when the pain im trying to synthesise into a story is still so fresh. So im hoping to find some emotional distance that will come with time and healing. I have made peace that making Wyvern will take a long time. I’ve realised I do everything in life slowly, and that it’s ok to

Adrian @lead-castle.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

My self esteem and by extension my faith and confidence in my own work has been a work in progress forever. The older I get the more I learn about the ways my brain has been shaped by abuse. Wyvern is, inextricably, about abuse, even before I could recognise it as a main theme. This also makes it-

It’s paradoxical bc my art is a form of communication. I think like many autistics one of my greatest desires is just to be listened to and understood lol. But bc it’s so personal & I have such low faith in my own ideas/self worth it gets really difficult to put myself on public display

Adrian @lead-castle.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Sry I haven’t updated Patreon or the comic website. Will try and post some stuff. I’ve not been wanting to share anything to social media bc internet sucks now plus I’ve been extremely closed off as a coping mechanism. PLUS the guilt spiral of being behind on posting and replying to msgs etc….

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"

Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.
