#FourPhotosOneMonth September 2026 — eking out the last of summer 1. Worthing’s Bayside Vista 2. Worthing beach huts 3. 22 September 4. A very irritating seagull
Worthing Bayside Vista, designed by architects Allies and Morrison. A low angle looking up the side of the curved building. Bright blue sky above.
Two mirrored beach huts sitting on a pebbly beach. Each casting a shadow on to the pebbles. A very blue sky. A young seagull making its voice heard.

My Dad bought me my first John Coltrane album. I was 15. ‘Love Supreme’ opened up my little blue eyes & naive ears. One of the greatest musicians to ever live — he gave me, & you, a musical prayer of gratitude & true expression of himself. Happy 100th Birthday to him. 🖤 youtu.be/qagOblqhBhk

📷 Graham Smith ‘A scarred British environment on the cusp of change haunts the bodies within.’ Dark Tales
British Documentary Photography and Gothic until 20 December martinparrfoundation.org/exhibitions/...
The man in the image, face downcast and sitting exhausted and alone in the mess room, is the trapped caretaker of a dying industry, which will be the likely death of him too.
It is a role familiar from gothic fiction: the loyal servant chained to a crumbling house, keeping it standing long after it was condemned; the audience looking on in anguish, disconcerted by their knowledge of what the future holds.

Clarinetist Adrian Cox is passionate about the vintage New Orleans sound, and when asked about his primary influence, he cites Edmond Hall—a New Orleans musician who recorded with Billie Holiday and Lester Young in the late 1930s.

Wow! 'Comrades in Art: Artists Against Fascism' exhibition at Eastbourne's Towner Art Gallery was an uplifting & revelatory experience. The best exhibition I've seen this year. All about the Artists’ International Association, it punched home the power of mobilising art in dark political times.

Cahors Cathedral

A massive, Byzantine-style dome over its nave. This massive structure is among the largest medieval dome in southwestern France.

It is built on curved supports called pendentives and covered in blue slate on the exterior.

This dome contains striking 14th-century paintings and represent Saint-Etienne praying, surrounded by St. Paul and 13 medieval figures. They in turn are surrounded by eight prophets.

A dock extends out into a calm lake with trees in the background. A sign reads "CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT" is visible near the start of the dock.

I swan in this lake. Nobody else swam in this lake. Mainly, I think, because it’s fairly shallow and the bottom is covered in weeds. Give me a body of water and nine times out of ten, I’ll swim in it.
